SO, kevlo, if you sum it all up, what would've done differently from how it was when you put up the kit?? Different size turbo, different pump??

I started to gather up my parts to get myself a rmt on my 4th gen and I looked up on you for inspiration. Im also searching for streetzlegend threads on his rmt buildup for pictures and explanations.

Do NOT cheap out from the get go. Make sure you get a goodturbo and a good pump. Do not get cheap fittings.

Basically do it right so you don't have to redo anything.

I wonder why you guys go on such big turbochargers for rmt applications. HX35's seems big to me... I was planning for:

T04B compressor wheel: 48.4 / 69.9 mm 48 "S" Trim
compressor housing: 0.60 a/r T04B

center section: oil cooled journal bearings

Turbine wheel: 68 trim (stage1)
Turbine housing .48 a/r (.63 a/r upgrade available for 280+ HP)

I start building boost around 3000-3500rpm. Once I wrap the bpipe it will be closer to 3000. That is perfect for me. Plus it is a great turbo for the price and leaves VQ30's room to play with.

Compared to the T04B im looking for, is the hx35 A lot bigger or a bit bigger??
I know streetzlegend built his first rmt system with one.

I had a t04B and I hated how it spooled up, pretty slow. the hx35 spool up in comparison is day and night, sometimes I go into boost without even noticing it. HX35 is not a big turbo, matter of fact at 15psi I am already running it out of efficiency, the t04b .69ar turbine housing i had was actually bigger than the turbine housing of the hx35. The compressor on the other hand is alot bigger on the hx, so you not only get awesome spool up but you also get alot more flow into the motor.

Thats almost exactly the same turbo I had (the one ur listing), I wouldnt get it just because how it spooled up, although once I had it on 16psi on the vq30 it was making good power(didnt dyno but was pretty noticible up in the 300s had to be). Being RMT does not make a significant difference in spool up vs. front mount, when done properly. In physics yes it does make a difference on paper, but in pratice its not really noticible, I was spooling the t04b the same way my friend with a 5sp was spooling it on his front mount setup.

Thanks for your opinion, you have a lot of credibility from your previous experiences with different setups. I like sharing infos with people who know their stuff. Check this site:

http://www.blaastperformance.com/index.php

Which one would you suggest for a low boost (8psi)/hi response setup??
I'd like to have boost around 3500rpm and looking for full boost around 4500rpm.
I consider using a obx 2.5inch remote flange like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-S...Q5fAccessories

Am I on the good path??

Well may I suggest to start a thread about your build, that way we dont fill this thread with a lil bit of offtopic information and also you can keep your own records of stuff on ur own thread. id be more than happy to share the little knowledge I know.

440's are on, charge pipe is off lol... again

I got the RC 440cc injectors on, surprisingly the car turned on the first time.

Did a quick tune so the car could run. Went for a drive, hit 5psi in third and the charge pipe slipped off again... UGH!!!!!!!! I will try to fix it tomorrow but all is well

Depending on what kind of metal your maf adaptor is (im assuming thats where its slipping) You can weld a few beads on the lip of the piping so that the coupler doesnt slip off as easily...

alot of the 240 guys do this when they have similar problems and it works pretty good....

Na it is slipping at my 2 - 3 coupler. I can fix it. I think I just made it loose when I was taking the intake out and putting it back in. I need to change the starter so I will fix it all then.

I would like to add that AMSOIL powerfoam is the ****!!!, stuff is amazing. Makes cleaning the car awesome.

ALSO I would like to add that the vq likes electrical tape I suppose lol, I accidentally dropped a small piece into the intake and I saw it on a valve, I could not reach it so I assumed the engine would just "eat it"

Still having this one GAY problem. Car turns off randomly at idle.

I think it is either the MAF or the TPS. Any ideas? I am going to clean the MAF again this weekend but other than that I dunno what to check

Mine has done that, made sure maf plug was in all the way, and never did it again.

Also, when i was a newb, the reason I joined this forum was to figure out why mine shut off and wouldnt turn back on. Turned out to be the cam pos sensor.

Cleaned the maf again, still some oil residue in the pipes. UGH, I really dont wanna remove the IC and all the pipes lol.

Over the summer I might just drop/upgrade the IC and then wash out the pipes while they are on the car.

Also I have the code 1001 for the front O2, I wonder if it is somehow related

What cleaner/degreaser do you guys recommend to clean my intercooler/pipes while they are on the car? I think I should get something I can just pour in there, let it sit and then hose it out.

What do you guys think and which product?
