SC install before putting motor in car?

Hey guys

I have a vq30de motor thats about to be put in the car but have a sc kit coming very soon. My quick question is will I be able to mount the vortech sc on the motor and then put the motor in the car? Will it have enough clearance?

I just think it would be alot easier to put the belt and mount matty's bracket with the motor out.

Thanks

Tough call. IMO, no. You won't have enough room to access the motor mount because it will be blocked by the SC.

Besides, you're cheating. You have to struggle through the experience of mounting the SC like the rest of us.

if you're doing the motor the proper, easier, and faster way (through the bottom) than no, there is absolutely no room, you could mount up the tensioner, thermostat, drainback plate, and feed line beforehand though.

motor is so much easier to pull and re-install from the bottom

we just dropped the motor from the bottom on some tires. It was pretty easy just heavy The new motor is being lifted in tonight. I wish the sc would have cleared it

Thanks everyone for your input.

Much easier to install all the S/C stuff on the block, then drop it into the car. The passenger side motor mount bolt will go in with some struggling.
