Boosting after 5th gen

Hey guys,.. So I've been away from the maxima community for a while. Some circumstances found me back behind the wheel of my old 4th gen for a couple weeks and I started to have those maxima feelings, well, if you're reading this you know the ones!

I'm noticing after looking around a bit that things seem generally slow around here and that the newer gen maximas don't seem to be boosting much. I rem there was that guy that boosted a 6th gen a long ways back.

My question is why? Why do the newer gen maxima people not mod like we did, more specifically why do they not boost? And if they do why is it not being discussed on this board?

Pretty simple. Nissan totally killed the Maxima enthusiast community by their instance to go autotragic, and even worse, CVT only on the newer Maximas. Plaguing any vehicle with a CVT is a shame, especially one that is supposed to be a "4DSC".

Of course, Nissan never sold all that many manual transmission equipped Maximas even dating back to the 3rd gen. But the manual transmission crowd drives the aftermarket/enthusiast market, so when you get rid of the manual, you also run off the potential enthusiast crowd.

A 7th gen with a manual transmission would have been phenomenal.

^That pretty much sums it up. CVT killed the momentum. The 6th or 7th gen that went turbo and had CVT, ultimately screwed up his CVT, replaced it, and has been quiet ever since.
