$70 for 2 michelin pilots ok price?

Hey this yard by my house sells lightly used tires.
Theyre a little weathered but i think they look ok.
They got about 75% tread. Michellin Pilot Sports 225/45/17.
They worth $35 a piece . 70 the pair.

also i need to buy these 225/60/15 tires for my factory sawblades but my tires now are 215/60/15 which is only 10 mm difference but these have about 75% tread and He want $50.00 For the Pair on those.

Are these really worth it or has anyone had experience buying tires from a yard. there not rewraped at all , just off wrecked cars.

Opinions welcomed . mwest.

I have 225/45/17 pilot sports and i'm in love with them. $35 each for 70%+ thread is a great price and usually common. Mind you the new price for that tire is above $160 each.

I bought an extra 2 tires at my local shop that picked them up off of a totalled BMW... these tires come stock on some of the ferrari modenas also so i guess that's a plus if you can get them that cheap.

Some shops give a 30-day warranty for used tires.. look into that instead of doing the yard deal. If they're in good condition, the 225/45/17 pair usually sells for around $150 + Shipping and the set usually sells for $350 so you can get the yard ones, sell them on eBay, and then go to a shop and get some in maybe 85-90% thread for like $50 each mounted and balanced.

Don't go for the 225/60/15 for the sawblades.. that's more rotational area.. keep the stock size for those. Many other local car shops should give you between $25-$55 for used tires in most sizes.

Hope you enjoy your purchases.

it's still a toss-up

A lot of people reccomend 225/45/17 for 17x7 rims, and some say 235/45/17 is ok while others claim that to be irregular. I'm not sure what the stock 17x7 5th gen rims have for rubber
