They're fine for the dragstrip though. |
Mazda millenia wheels (not sure which style but they are 11lbs each) Jime knows all about them
|
why not 300ZX 16s?
|
i got my 300zx wheels for under $100 with 75% tread left on yokohamas
i think they look great, they are not too heavy, and they are wide. what more can you ask for? |
i can only get 15s
and whats wrong with 15s for normal driving? |
Nothing wrong with 15" for daily driving, oh ive got some 3rd gen wheels for sale(shame less plug) I'm looking to get $150 for the set. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=247090

thanks alot i think im gonna look into those Volks or something like them
my dad listened to the mechanic at his work who said that bigger tires will mess up the car..i.e. put more stress on the parts....mess up the speedo.. ect. soo i figure if i have to get 15's why not get light weight ones while im at it |
well that was odd....
i never saw the post about the motegi rt5's and i went shoppin today for some rims at a local store and i found of motegis that i liked but they didnt have em in 15's so i looked at what they had in 15's and i liked the rt5's the best so i got them... then i come back here and i see someone suggested them so now i feel happy bout my money well spent thanx |

I'm sure your dad is thinking "well he works on cars so he must know about this stuff" but the plain fact is that just because the monkey can turn the wrench doesn't mean he understands the physics involved. The size of the wheels and tires has nothing to do with any stresses on the car except a slight increase in cornering load and road harshness but it's nothing that will affect the life or longevity of the car or any of its components. But if that's your dad's decision and he's the one who makes the decisions about the vehicle you've gotta live with it (or try convincing him that the mechanic is wrong which won't be easy). BTW don't bother checking into the Volks you won't find those for under $400... you're looking at more like $300 per rim in your size. However you can get any style wheel for just about any price, as the lower end companies typically copy the higher end companies styles. Volk (rays), SSR, Racing Hart, etc typically have all their wheel styles copied by the likes of Rota, Konig, ADR, etc. Many times these lower priced companies also succeed in make the wheels exceptionally light too, not quite as light as the originals due to the advanced forging processes used which is one reason for the higher prices, but still pretty light. Anyways if you want something cheap and light and decent looking just look around they are out there. Rota makes light 15" tuner wheels, as do many other companies. Start checking websites to see what styles you like, then go to www.wheelweights.net and check on their weight in your specified size. If you see a style of wheel you like but cant afford don't hesitate to send me a PM and ask if I know of any clones of that wheel which could be found at a lower price. 9 times out of 10 I will be able to tell you right off the top of my head who makes a clone of a certain wheel and often how much they weigh. I'm into wheels as you can see. Good luck finding some wheels bro. |

How much did you pay for them and could you post some pics if possible. thanx. |
