WTF: TireRack wont sell me 225/40/18 Kuhmo's for the max!

I'm wondering if anyone is riding on 225/40/18 Kuhmo 712's? TireRack.com wont sell them to me because they wont handle the load of my 1997 3000lb car. Are they basing the facts on the new maxima. Is it true that the maxima needs a 1370lb tire? HELP. I was trying to go cheap and now I cant. Is there something better for a little more money???

Maybe a 235/40/18 would work... if they have them in that size...

what size are your wheels? 225s are for 7" or 7.5" rims...

7.5" set of Konig Monsoons

Maybe ill try slapping on some 235's. Have any of you guys done this? Do they stick out off of the rim? Dangerous?

Thanks,

235 or 245 are probably safer than the 225...

235/40-18 will fit fine on 7.5 inch rims.

How do you figure?

perfect max...IMO i'd go 245/40/18...more tread, more grip, looks more aggressive, good selection, can handle load no problem and tire is nice and wide :)

Won't 235's or 245's rub? or hang out in the front wells a little?
