Just bought some 18's now i need Tires
 

Well i just bought some HP EVO's and i am looking to get tires...
I picked out a couple sets, and this set it prolly the one i am most likely gonna get...
any imput would get nice

pretty nice. I went with 235/40-18 Kumho 712. Lower price, excellent handling/braking/grip. Only bad thing I've heard is it doesn't last very long if you drive beyond agressive, like going to the track.

Which ones...the kumho or the pirelli...
when i ge tmy license back i am going to try to drive slow and not as agressive...
and i also want a long lasting tire becuase the roads in PA suck!

the kumhos don't have much track life.

the Nero is an all season tyre!!!


I would highly reccomend a dedicated summer tyre, it does not make comprimises to dry/wet grip. The nero it probably sh!t in the snow anyways!!

i have snow tires....so I can get whatever tire i want and don't have to worrie about the snow..
the only problem is the price...i don't want to spend over 550 dollars...
any know of anything other good tire???

there is a company called Nankang that cuts Pirelli's hig performance tires when Pirelli is behind on orders that makes a very good tire for a very good price. Put some 215/35/18's on my wifes car and they ride like factory, until I hit a bump.( which is with any tire with a profile that low) Had them on the car since Feb. w/ no rotation and just keeping an eye on the pressure and balancing and still have a lot of tread left. Yeah personally I would definitely get summer tires, but that's only because of my driving style. ;) If you're not planning on carving any corners a set of good all seasons will probably be fine for you. I would still switch to the winters when the temperature dips of course.

Maybe a summer grand touring tire? I *think* those tend to have higher treadwear ratings, but I'm not sure if they'd outhandle a UHPAS tire. It could be quieter though. I'd ask the Tire Rack experts about this if I were you.

The reason I was given for their cheap price was that Nankang mass produces tractor tires and just sells these "on the side" when Pirelli gets behind on their orders. They were suppose to start production of a 245/35/20 last month and when the time comes I'm going to get a set if that gives you any comfort about the recomendation.(I presently have Nitto Extremes) As for which size 18, it going to depend on how you want the car to sit. I see that you have lowering springs so I assume your going to want to fill some fender well gap, so take a tape measure and measure from the bottom of the tire to where you want the the top of the tire to be. Most tire websites and brochures show the overall diameter and width of the tires in the tire specs(I know Tire Rack does). Match that number with your measurement and the width of your wheel and you'll have your tire. The 235/40 is built for an 8.5" wheel and has an overall diameter of 25.4". If those measurements of diameter and wheel width match then that's your tire.
