2K1 Se w/ 215/50/R17 Falken Ziex 512's

Ok, im a :newbie: so forgive me if this is to obvious.

I've read many of the threads in this particular section of the site, and was wondering if anyone here is running 215/50/R17 Falken Ziex 512's on their 2001 SE? After 26,000 miles I'm finally getting rid of my CrapTenza's, and I hope I made a good choice with these new tires.

I ordered my new tires from discount tire direct last week, and am expecting them next monday. I was just curious to hear from people that might be running this size on the 2001 SE about how it handles, likes, dislikes, etc...

If you're getting Falken Ziex 512, which are good all-season tires, make sure you get 225/50/17 instead of the 215/50/17. Yes, they do come in OEM size.

It's too late, I already ordered the 215/50/17 set last week. I considered getting the stock size but they were backordered several weeks, and my Craptenzas are damn near bald now, so I didn't want to wait much longer.

I've read the threads several months back, and there's very little speedometer/odometer difference between these and the stock size, and it seemed as thoughmany people thought that this was actually a better size. I don't really know all that much about tires myself, but the size was definately within spec for the 17x7 rims, and the load rating on these was a 91, compared to a 93 on my stock craptenzas.

IF IT'S ALREADY TOO LATE, THEN IT DOESN'T REALL MATTER NOW, DOES IT? :slap:

Thanks for being so helpful. But, seeing as you are not running that particular tire size on the 2001 SE rim, we really don't have anything to talk about, do we?

Like I stated in my original post, I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who is running the 215/50/17's on a 2001 SE, to their likes/dislikes/opinions.

Blue Wookie,
The tire size selection you made is ok!
I have a 2K SE w/the 16" factory 5-spoke rims. The tire size on these is 215/55/16. I'm looking to do a plus-one upgrade to 17". If you go to the Falken Tires website, you'll see that for the Ziex 512's, the 215/50/17 is virtually identical in tire diameter to the 215/55/16's than the 225/50/17. In my case. that's what I'm looking for so the speedometer reads the same.
As for the Ziex's the tread pattern is similiar to the Bridgestone RE950 I currently have. I think the RE950's perform great, and I'm expecting the 512's to be similiar to the 950's.
