I Love The 512's

:attention:

We've already been through this, but i figure what else is new

I just had my front 512's replaced after getting worn out with new ones. Driving down Garden State in the pouring rain in the morning(it was coming down in waves) I had no fear of hydroplaning. I decided to take it up to 70mph to feel the grip and there was no hint of wavering. The stopping power with these in the rain is very effective and once again, i cant wait to test these out in the snow again. I believe there is no all around tire for the money......

What are you orgers running on your rims?

I hope I can get the same satisfaction and piece of mind from my new 512's. I've been driving around on the CrapTenza's for just over 2 and 1/2 years, until last night that is.

I'm still on the Blowtenzas as well -- REALLY thinking about getting these or the Sumis.
You ARE talking about the Ziex 512s, yes?

I'm still waiting to hear a reasonbly definitive review on the .org of the performance capabilities / wear resistance of these tires in the dry.
Sounds like you've got the wet covered....

Would you care to be the first??! :naughty:

Thanks!

I just put on my third pair of 512's for the front. Before you start thinking that the life sucks on these, listen to my reasons:
1. I wore out the first pair after 30k
2. Second pair, blew out the right. Decided to replace both to keep the tread consistent on both tires...needed replacing anyway.

Good things?:
1. These tires can handle 120mph easily...havent gone above that on these.
2. It has a rim guard if you have $1000 rims (per corner)
3. Nice look to them-look sporty, aggressive
4. Rain traction is amazing...tends to decrease after tread wears down(with most tires, it does anyway)
5. Best for the money
6. Dry traction is excellent; roads to work are hilly and curvy; the car hugs the turns rather nicely at 90+(all cars handle differently though)

They've got a 30,000 mile mileage warranty ... you done good.

defsquad222 Dec 17, 2003 09:22 PM

Skydaver, yeah....but the thing is, in their warranty exclusions, they wont replace tires due to alignment, suspension, abusive driving due to aftermarket kits and/or the way a person drives. My second pair wore down a little faster 20-22k.

did you rotate your tires regularly?

defsquad222 Dec 18, 2003 12:04 PM

Actually no, but if you think about it, if I were to rotate my tires regularly, I would have to buy four at once instead of two. My rears have been in the same excellent that i bought them in, its only the fronts that wear out. Of course I may need to buy tires sooner without rotating, but i rather buy two instead of four at once...you see?

Ammi Dec 18, 2003 04:23 PM

I guess is same thing. Last half the time and buy 2 tires or last twice as long and buy 4 tires.
