anyone useing Kumho Ecsta 711's
 

I know they are only H rated but I need them mainly for milage. I drive nearly 1000 miles a week so I can't be buying a 30K mile tire. Not to mention these are only $71 a peice.

712s are much better than 711s.

The 711 is an all season H-rated tire while the 712 is a summer W-rated high performance tire.

Tirerack lists them as a high performance summer tire. I was thinking about the H rated tire over the W rated for the added milage I can get out of them. Besides then you can tell me yours are better than mine Ben :-)

I have a set of 'em. I bought them for looks and price. I haven't tried skid-padding them, so I can't tell you much else...

oh, they're 225/50 15s, and the guy at firestone had a pretty hard time squeezing them onto my stock rims.

They are good tires for the money. Dont worry Ben :slap: doesn't know what he is talking about. They are a high performance summer tire because of the directional tire tread. Although they are H rated with a little softer sidewall I think they can handle real good. They stick real good too. I have tested them in a parking lot and they seemed to do quite well. They are 225/50/16. I think you would be happy if you bought them for the money and quality.

yeah I am ordering these today. I decided not to buy through the Tire Rack. Reason being is that I have respect for american small business and how hard it is to keep the doors open nowadays with wholsellers starting websites to undercut prices. Tire rack had these for $71 and my tire dealer showed me the website of his distributer and his price was $72.50. That is crazy. I am buying from him. He is selling them to me for $400 installed out the door. That is about $100 more than I would pay from tirerack including having them installed, but I figure it like this. With tirerack you have to buy the road hazard warrenty, wereas I am getting it for free. Also you are only one warrenty claim away from negating all savings from buying these tires offline. I also have the peice of mind knowing that I helped a small business keep the doors open a little longer.

I meant to mention this the other day, but I didn't, 'cuz I was drinkin' again: they shoulda been called Kuhmo Tramlines. I'm not sure how they came up with the name Ecsta.

I dont know much about tires. I am not an expert but on their web site they put them in the performance class. If you read the description too it explains the details of the tire. They are a good tire in the rain too that is one thing directional thread help do which is keep the water center of the tire to an extent. This is just my opionion on my ride home a couple of weeks going from Atlanta, GA to Athens, Ga in the pouring rain. I did not lose traction expect on the way home when I hit a good patch of water.

Ben I was just saying maybe that are not a high performance summer tire but a performance "summer" tire but they are good with the descripition but we know some things are called "good Marketing".

well they are on my car now. The guys had a hell of a time getting them on there due to the bead protectors. I went from a 225/50-17 to a 225/45-17. Reason being is these are closer to my original tire size. Well they look alot smaller than the others, even though there is only .9" of difference. I need to get this thing dropped quick.:)
