2004 SE's 18' wheels on a 4th gen

What do you think ?

Should i polish them, leave them as is or chrome them?

buy thinner tires? (even if it would leave a bigger gap) Tell me what you think !

Thanks,

The car is dirty, and i didnt install the clear corners yet but it gives an idea...

I would leave them alone, they look good. What suspension setup do you have?

Wisky97SE Mar 14, 2004 04:15 PM

Wow, it looks great. . . .I bet the speedo is off with that setup though.

Car looks good, but IMO those gold handles gotta go, my old car (93 Altima) had them and they were faded and looked horrible.

WillMax95 Mar 14, 2004 04:18 PM

looks good, i dunno how they would looked polished tho

Entek Mar 14, 2004 04:30 PM

I have B+G lowering springs (2 inch drop)

And yeah, i hate how the door handles fade out but i like the gold plated crests on the trunk, what should i do???

imho chrome crests/handles dont look good on beige

Original tires were : 205/65/15
New are : 245/45/18
Speedometer Difference: 4.669% too slow
Diameter Difference: 4.47%

So its really 60 mph (100 km/h) when it sais 57.3 mph (95.5 km/h)

It doesnt bother me too much

skiboarder72 Mar 14, 2004 04:43 PM

That looks really great!

Yes i did ! :-)

They weight 32 lbs each and they are manufactured by TSW

4DRSpeed Mar 14, 2004 04:50 PM

Very nice!! I really want to get some for winter use. But I want my summer wheels to be 17s, I would feel like I'm down grading when summer rolls around, lol. But in your picture they look like 17s with the sidewall like that. I like!!!

speedyglx Mar 14, 2004 04:50 PM

do u rub anywhere with those tires and that drop?

geo1317 Mar 14, 2004 04:59 PM

Yeah the sidewall is huge, but it fills the gap perfectly.

with thinner tires i would want to lower the car a bit more and the coil springs i have are the lowest i found !

speedyglx : I 'tested' them a bit, slapped the breaks while turning ect... and they didnt rub yet :-)

:slap: j/k, i would say the same thing after the winter i have had(cracked lip, rock dents, deers, people breaking into it)

i consider the 17" se wheels boat anchors and they weight 28lb each, but they do look good. i think its the same deal with these, just bigger size and larger weight.

I'm in montreal (canada) and the best price i found is 270$/wheel... thats around 210$ usd

Your wheels would look really good chromed out !

Ludacris Mar 14, 2004 08:15 PM

That looks perfect, awesome stance!

BOSS Mar 14, 2004 08:26 PM

Hum...

getting them polished would cost me only 100$/wheel, if its gonna give me something 'almost' as nice as chrome... i could be interested.

95emeraldgxe Mar 14, 2004 09:00 PM

sorry, i dont meant to be rude, but i think the 5th gen rims looked better on a 4th gen

I think you misunderstood me here, once again IMO:

polished rims = chrome = horrible look

Yeah i thought the same thing a few days ago but i got used to them.

And now i love them !

Boss : Now i understand.... So you would leave them as is, i kinda dig the chrome rims :-) I'm looking for a 'classier' luxurious look. (not building a race car)

Thanks for your opinion tho, i apreciate

Visitingreality Mar 15, 2004 04:43 AM

I have 2k2 wheels on my 97, I think they fit the 4th gen a bit better but the 2k4's still look good.

nupe500 Mar 15, 2004 04:47 AM

I think they look very nice... I was thinking about getting a set of those!

Brudaddy Mar 15, 2004 08:55 AM

Well, Those are nice looking wheels( I have loved them since they came out), but 32lbs. each is just way too much! Wow! Do you realize that compared to my stock 4th gen 16", there is a 21.4lb/per wheel difference. That is like having an extra 496lbs riding in the car with you! I, personally, cannot sacrifice that much performance....no matter what they look like. That is not to mention the tires...they will cause it to weigh a lot more too.

sil SE Mar 15, 2004 01:03 PM

heh entek i was referring to geo1317's car looking like crap but either way i was joking.
entek your car is looking good the way it is with or without a lot more to do. youre already there good job. you dont have to go all out, keep it simple

Thats cool Sil se, thanks... The car definitelly needs clear bumper lights and red/clear tails, after that maybe a little tint and fog lights. Thats it!

i want 2 little fogs on each side, like this :
