can you fit 265/35/18 on the rear of a max with 18x9.5????

i'm looking at 18x8.5 fr and 18x9.5 back...and i just called and they told me to go with a 35 offset with a 40 offset i will need spacers...does that sound right???

Someone else here has 19x9.5's with a 42 offset and says they fit well...if you go with 40 they will only stick out 2mm more so should probably be ok. What wheels are you looking at?
