need suggestion: going on a long trip, put the 15s back on or roll on 17s?
basically i'm taking another trip down from norcal to socal. it'll be a good 1000mi for round trip. the roads i'm taking are mostly hwy, some local. my 17" ecsta supra has really good tracktion, but the ride quality gets kinda bad in long trip. my main objective is to get good gas mileage, comfertable ride quality, and safety. my old 15s have at least a good 80% tired tred left on all 4 tires.
so what do you guys think? stay with the 17s and roll down or swap the 15s on? i don't really care if i look ghetto with 15s rolling around in socal... |
I doubt you'll notice much gas mileage difference. I say roll w/ 17"s.

I'd go for 15"s, better ride quality and it's not a threat to luring bad guys........ and plus it's not like you're going to be pushing max G force all through out the trip, you won't need 17" traction. 17" tires are probably more expensive so you might want to save the threads on those....
Plus, theoretically, you should get better mileage with 17" cuz of less weight. Less weight = less power needed to move = less fuel consumption. |
