20 inch rim question

Hey guys, this weekend i'm buying 20 inch rvm spazio's, I don't know if anyone is familiar with them or has them on here (if you do speak up please!!) Anyway, I was wondering what the recommended low pro tire size I should get is? I know some people say it's gonna be a ***** to drive, a lot of people don't like chrome or 20s, or looks stupid on a max, so please save those comments and leave this thread to those who can help me out on what tires I should buy. Thanks a lot all help is greatly appreciated.

Those are gonna be a ***** to drive. I hate chrome, especially on 20s. They will look very stupid on a maxima. Maybe I shouldn't have said all that. On a serious note, go to the WHEELS AND TIRES forum, it's there for a reason. Good day and don't get laughed at, often.

Don't feel bad for yourself just cause you have no taste. I'd pick the sawblades over what you want anyday. Like I said, learn to read and go to the CORRECT forum.

Haha, I have no taste, you mean you'd pick the sawblades over the 20s anyday because you have no money. Sucks to be a grown *** man driving a maxima with no money, muhaha. I hope I roll up on you with my rims and airbags. 1.

*sigh*
well they will ride like crap whatever tire you get.
easy to bend rims..so so easy.
they will possibly hit your fender wall if you hit a nice sized bump...

i agree with big d here.

but if you don't care about ride comfort or looks or money get whatever tire you want on your 20s. once you say chrome and 20s it's all down hill after that...

Go to the right forum MORON. You keep asking for input but you're asking in the wrong place. I also don't see how owning $800 wheels makes you a rich man. Good 17s cost that much. Tasteless.

Man, do what you like, and not because of what people think. Cars are like women and not all guys have the same taste. For tires, I would make my decision based on how much I drive. I have 18s (CHROME!!!) and I chose 245/40s. They're heavy but at the same time, if you're not trying to replicate your own Too Fast Too Furious movie everytime you get behind the wheel like A LOT of people do here, then handle your business and watch for curbs!!! Oh yeah........check CARDOMAIN.COM and look at Maximas. People sometimes list their tire sizes on there.

1. chrome rims are ugly as heck.
2. 20" is WAY too big/heavy/ugly
3. katana makes rims similiar to those u want
4. i suggest 19" since its gonna look ALOT better.
5. bigger is NOT always better, in this case bigger is uglier and worse.
6. as far as tires go, depends on how much you wanna spend. Nitto NT555's are good cheap tires. so are kumho and falken. then we got those really good and expensive tires like dunlop, michelin, pirelli. good year.

last but not least, PLEASE, I BEG you to think twice and not waste ur money. u'll regret it

well i was going to buy them from rvm myself, but opted out because they r too big, but i will be buying a set 18 or 19 from them, i went to there warehouse & they r no bull**** company, so u can trust them, not sure how far u r from long island, but it might worth it to go to the warehouse & buy them there, they install it for u, they said some comp makes them from china, it def worth the $$$ cause nowere dayz people r getting there rims stolen, will not pay 2k vs 1k if they get stolen

The ride isnt as bad as they say on my 19s witch prolly goes the same for 20's, im used to it with my drop and i had 17s and the ride was almost the same.

I must say there is a maxima in my town with 20s that aren't all bulky, they are just plain 5 star rims and they look hot. I went with 19s cause i still raced and drove like an a$$ but 20's are nice as long as you do it right.

Has anyone ever rode in a car on 20's? No? Well I have, and the max was riding on cut sprint springs and it drove real nice. So save your comments.

In an ad in Modified Mag for Nitto they have 225/35ZR20 listed. Check this out for more info http://nittotire.com/popup_555_sizes.asp

Oh by the way, they were chrome 20's too and they looked awesome

I don't have the pics anymore with the 18s, but I have a hybrid body kit (stillen front, ionic dynamics skirts rear 2 piece valence) and interior work. I am planning on lowering with the 20s, however I may wait a month or so because I want to get bags with a remote (like what saddler had.) If that plan takes too long I will buy springs/struts in the mean time. I will post pics asap.

I have 245/35s on 20x8.5" rims with 38mm offset. Dont rub on fenders....rolled them just in case cause the front looked like a might. Lowered on Sprint/AGX and it tucks clean in the front, and about 1 finger gap in rear. I only rubbed on the fender liner....so I ripped them off. It rubs sometimes on full turns but its nothing major. Its not like its taking chunks out of the rubber...its just barely rubbing. Ride quality isnt great but it was expected. You'll feel hard bumps and so on....but hey you're the only one that should care how you're car rides.

Edit: If it matters Im rolling on Falken Azenis ST-115's. The guy I got them from said Falkens wouldnt bulge out as much as Nitto 555's in the same size. He said it would help clear the front fenders.

I am thinking of getting 20 x 8.5 and 38 mm offset. I will probably get 245 35 20 although I might shell out a bit of extra $ for 255 30 20 tires. Made by continental they are almost the exact same height as stock wheels.

I love how people think that because they chose 20's , they are now ballers. You can go to any shop in So Cal and get some ghetto 20's with tires for 1400 bucks or less. A good set of 19's or even 18's will cost you a lot more than that. Most 20's are chrome and ghetto, since most cant afford a REAL 20 inch wheel like Symbolic, Lowenhart etc........Just get some Lexani's and be like every other ghetto car....

Do you suggest getting some 19s like yours? They are nice what are they Mille Miglia? Those are pretty expensive (insert sarcasm here). I am not sure I get your point. Why buy a set of really expensive wheels for a car that is relatively inexpensive? Why not get some 20s? Not much different than your 19s and since 90% don't actually race our maximas the extra little bit of weight from the 20s aren't going to affect us that much. I have seen your wheels in the shop and I weighed 5 different sets of 20" alloys of which 3 sets were lighter than yours. And if you want to compare things like price well I can get a set of 18s with tires for well under $1000. I can also get 19s with tires for just about $1000. Sorry in advance if I am missing something here.

Dont mean to state the obvious but...Lowenharts own

BTW get 245/35/20 for dubs, looks good with good amount of rubber to protect the wheel.

ur an idiot........just because u like 19s doesn't mean everyone has the same tastes as u.......and like the other guy said... it's not like YOU'RE riding on expensive *** 19s either.... so just stfu and answer his question... if u have no fuking clue.. then get out of this thread...

and to answer the original question.... get 245/35/20 if u got 20x8.5

34mm offset might stick out a touch in the front. You will probably be fine in the rear. Actually it might be ok but you may need to get the fenders rolled. Post pics if you can. I am having a hell of a time here getting the rims I need. I think I am going to get 20s but not chrome (they seem to have have chrome for every other car but mine). They are dark silver or grey colour.

I just wrote a big story about offset and how to calculate it but when I reread it, it was confusing as hell. Let me just say this. If you look at the rim lets say from the top and you could see the inside edge and the outside edge of the rim. Yours are 8.5" wide so if you were to measure 4.25 inches, you would be halfway. THis line is called 0 offset. If you move one way it is positive offset and the other way is negative offset. If you were to have a 0 offset on your max they would stick out past the fenders like 2 inches. 34 mm from the 0 offset line will mean that more rim will be sticking out than 38mm guaranteed. Just believe me. If I had a piece of paper this description would be freakin easy. I will shut up now just trust me about the offset thing.

actually I think a 255 30 20 will fit. IT is almost exactly the same size as stock wheel setup. With proper offset it may not rub anywhere.

235 30 20 are a bit short. Also I am not sure that size even exists. It may though I am not 100% sure.

actually it looks like you know nothing slammed, like i said before... 235 will not fit they are too short like mack said, and 255s will not work they will rub, 245 is the recomended size for 20s. now stfu fool, when you stop riding on minors you can talk in this thread (bump up your 17s kiddie - that was hot in the 80s.)
