Dunlop SP Sport A2's
any one have these on their car?
I had to replace one recently and was told that it was directional , meaning i have to have 2 for left side and 2 for right side. This true? :spike: |
I have Dunlop SP Sport A2's, and I've never heard anything about them being directional.
Give another store that carries them a call to check, like Sears Auto. |
my Dunlop SP 5000's that were on my 1998 Sentra SE and 1998 Maxima SE were directinal, and so are the Dunlop SP8000's currently on my SE-R..

wait, they are not directional...
check this site: http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...el=SP+Sport+A2 |
I have owned several Dunlop tires including the D60A2, SP Sport A2, adn SP Sport 5000. The D60A2 was an excellent tire, especially for an H rated one. The SP Sport A2 was the supposed replacement for the D60A2. However, the Sport A2 is doesnt come close for handling and steering reponse. The Sport A2 is not even close to the stock Bridgestones for handling. Anyway, I have since gone with the SP Sport 5000. This is an excellent Z rated tire. The ride and noise are similar to the D60A2, and the handling and steering response are slightly better. My only concern with purchasing the 5000 was the tirewear, as the D60A2's lasted 60k. However, I currently have 28k with significant tread remaining. Bottom line: Sport A2's are quiet and smooth but handle terribly - I DO NOT RECOMMEND; the 5000 are also quiet and smooth but handle SIGNIFICANTLY better....and I think they will last nearly as long.
