Higher profiles on 5th gen 17x7's?
 

Has anyone gone with a higher-profile (e.g. 55, vs. the stock 50-profile) tire on the 5th gen 17x7's? Any tips, experiences, snide remarks, etc?

I am currently on 235/45-17 and would like to move up in comfort, but while I could go back to stock size (225/50-17), I was wondering if anyone's gone further and moved up to a 55-profile 17" tire. I'm looking for all-season; right now I have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.

Some have used 235/50/17 on the stock 17's. Michelin makes this size in the Pilot A/S also. They look OK, and take up a little wheel gap along with more sidewall for cushioning

Hmmm, that's a possibility. Looks like Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is also available in 225/55-17, and it's cheaper than 225/50-17, 235/50-17 or 235/45-17.
