Tire replacement recommendations

Need to replace front tires on 04 Max SL, cupped out and sounds like a mudder. Original Continentals seemed noisy and close to wear bars already, 25k miles. Getting alignment and asking for suggestions. Something quiet and good ride quality, don't need a performance tire. Thanks

Wow. 25k on an 04 already? Michelins have always been rather quiet. Bridgestones and BF Goodrichs (at least the ones I've had) are kinda noisy. I have Sumitomos now, and they're "ok" but could be quieter. Take a look at tirerack.com and you get get scores for each tire to see which one suits your needs.

I drive about as much as you do (90k on my '03 bought in Jan. '03). I go with Michellin's 'cause they seem to last the longest. I just put on my second set of Pilot Sport A/S's last night. I wouldn't drop a grand a year if I didn't like 'em!

Falken 512s for great all season tires. They are made out of softer rubber compound though. They will wear out pretty fast. The rate you wear out tires, they might not be worth it. You might also look into Michelin Pilot A/S. Expensive but real good tires.
