18's with +40 and 245/45/18's ?

I just got some 18's with i THINK +40 offset and I just also got 6 dunlop s9000 245/45/18 for free and was gonna wonder if i can put these on without them having to rub anything, im also doing the tociko illumina and eibach prokit in the future, most people say usually 235/40/18 is a perfect fit, but i dont want to sell these tires if I can put them on. Also i belive the wheel is 18x7.5

If it's a 7.5" wide tire, I wouldn't go that wide either. I'd say go with 225 width.

so, what for a wide (8" or 8.5") 17" wheel....17"= low(er) inertial mass, given a relatively lightweight wheel...what offfset to run a 245 or 255 is needed...I guess I want the most traction, least weight, best price, and dlooks matter too, though not as much...i would prefer a non-chrome, maybe black w/ polished lip, or gun metal or titanium... Oh yeah and I want all of this with no problems from shredding, rubbing, hydroplaning, etc.(though I understand larger tires will handle differently in tracking and bumpsteer) I know there are tradeoffs and nothing can fulfill all of those, but I'm just idealizing...I need traction..will have a V2 SC w/ 3" pulley, quaifed, 3" y-back, reprogrammed JWT ECU, Z32 MAF, MEVI, Walbro, AFR, 300ZX purple tops, all torsional stiffening goodies, i.e. F and R-STB rear crossmember brace ,etc. and a set of JIC coilovers...what about a set of Volks 18X8.5, still unknown offset...sounds pretty good to me so far. I'm considering 18s b/c I may go with some nasty big brakes up front at some point in the future, I am would prefer a wheel that is over-driven (fewer revolutions wheel/mile than stock, {higher speed per gear} than underdriven, though anything over 2% becomes intolerable regardless)...I would appreciate any feedback, comments, experiences, advice, etc. in this matter. Thank you in advance.

BTW, TopElement, do you run 265s daily-driven? If so how far, and how did you do it?...wheels, offset, weight tires, avail and cost of rims and tires, compromises in wet/snowy handling...and finally do you have ABS, as I won't, nor do I on my present Max.

What brake upgrade are you considering? The TET 14.5" 6 piston kit is the biggest and highest quality brake system available for maximas, so I don't know if that's what you were referring to. They will clear the 18" TE37's designed for big calipers.
Yes, the cars are daily driven. The 17x9's are 35mm offset, and weigh 15.2lbs. Availability is limited, and price is undisclosed. Tires are Falken GR451 Beta, sized 265/40/17. Wet traction is astonishing, and we don't drive in snow here in So Cal. One of my 4th gens has ABS, while the other does not, and no problems on either because the tires are the same diameter all around.

Is the TET kit a two piece rotor with billet calipers and are they fixed, semi, or full floating? Sounds intriguing...cost? It's not drillled, is it... I don't mind slotting, but drilling is not beneficial in my opinion, no need to "vent" gases anymore, pad materials have changed greatly, as I'm sure you know....oh yeah, and are the rotors directionally veined? I was also considering doing the 300ZX conversion if cost becomes an issue....what do you know about this....time/availability/performance increase, and does it yield a lower unsprung weight for the 300 than the stock set up? Sorry, just like to know all that I possibly can....I'm a glutton for knowledge and experience.....Thanks again Top....Oh yeah, think I'm going with the 245/40/18s, seem more readily available, greater selection, and still leaves enough sidewall to protect the rims and my ****
