235's on 18x7.5= perfect combo

Just put 235's on my 18x7.5 rims after two sets of 225/40/18's. The difference is more than i expected. Two sets of my parada spec 2's with no major problems- they did wear much quicker than I thought they would. The new tires are the cooper zeon 2xs. I was hesitant to get these because discount was pushing them so hard and i've never owned coopers or known anyone who has. After a quick break in and a couple hundred miles I can say that these stick better than the yokos. It looks much better imo. The 225's had too little sidewall and it curved into the rim to quickly. The 235's look much better as they look a lot wider and they fill the h+r gap much better than the 225's. I guess that what I really want people to know is that the 235 tire works fine with no problems. And again, it looks much better than the 225. I bought two sets of 225's thinking that i would notice sidewall roll or experience uneven wear or it just wouldn't look right. It's perfect so far!

hey what is the offset on your rims, I just bought 18x7.5 and the offset is 42 I was planning to with 225/40/18 but now since you mention the 235/40/18 I'll look into it.

Mine are 42 also. Spend the extra few bucks for the 235's. I'm so glad I finally did. What rims are you getting?

I already bought them, I bought the 5zigen fighter, they are tiatanium finish. I have a question on questions. I saw that on tirerack the there is a number on treadwear on all tires. Is it the higher number it is then you will wear out the tire faster? If I'm wrong can someone please let me know what these number are for.

There was a thread a while back that mentioned everything about the wear ratings. They are different from manufacturer to manufacturer ex. a 300 goodyear is different but comparable to a yokohama 300. It's the lower the number the quicker it will wear out. Id go for at least a 280 rated high performance tire.

so if the treadwear is somewhere in the 300+ and 400+ then that is good better compare to a 280, and it will last longer right?
