Nitto NT 555?
#2
Many guys use the Nitto 555's on their "summer" wheels as they don't have the greatest wet/snow traction. I have them on my 19" Se7ens and am pretty pleased with the ride overall, but running 35 series tires on 19's, you're not looking for a "smooth" ride persay. But I have read positive comments for those running them on 17 & 18" wheels as well.

I have them on my car right now and I plan on changing them this weekend. They are excellent summer tires, but as far as winter goes I not do recommend them for snow (HORRIBLE). Today while I was driving, I lost control of the car making a 5mph turn in the snow. It resulted in one bent rim after smacking the curb.

thanks for the reply guys, I wasn't sure if the nitto nt 555 were summer only are it's all year round. I called discount tires and they told me it was a all season tires. I heard a some sayb that it sucks in the rain or when its wet, is this true?

I'm wondering when people will realize that you CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be running summer compound tires in winter conditions.... Ever notice how on the TireRack customer ratings, summer tires have the "Snow Traction" column redded out with a "N/A" there? There is a real reason for this, you know....
Change over to stock all-seasons or winter tires (better!) once the temperature gets below 5 to 10 Celsius, as the compound tends to harden at low temperatures. They'll suck on frost and ice too, not just snow.
To help with the question, if searching or asking here doesn't help much, try searching over at other forums. Sometimes one particular type of car will have more people running some odd tire that others don't run as much. Forums with a specific tire/wheel sub-forum are good places to check.
