BFGoodrich Traction T/A's
 

Just wanting to let people know that i have these tires, and they were just recently installed. I love these tires. I have them IN 235/45/17 and they are wonderful and not that exspencive. so if you are on a budget but want a awsome tire for them money pic these up.

I came from Kumho 711's, so it is like a night and day differance cause they really sucked, but i had toyo's on my stock wheels before these and they kick the toyo's ***. I do nto know much about tires but i can surele tell the differance after driving my car with these. Just though i would reccomend a good tire for people who cannot spend $170+

That's good to hear. I currently have the BFG G Force KDWS that are horrible tires. I have had great luck with Comp T/A VR4s on my old Altima. I will definately consider these when I get new tires.

well i am not to much of a performance driving. I beat on the car sometimes but not that much. They do very well for what i need them for....to some people i bet they suck...but i love these tires..

Did you get those from tirerack? I was thinking about getting those too, very nice price right now. Only thing I'm worried about is, alot of people say stick to the stock size of 225/50/17. I have the Eibach springs and Gr2's and the ride is way too stiff for me. I'm worried that it will be even stiffer with those tires. When I have some extra money, I'm going to upgrade to Illuminas. Do you think that by going to that size of tire, it will make the ride even more harsh?

If youre looking at affordable high performance all season tires, be sure and check out the Kumho Ecsta ASX. I've had mine on for about a week and could not be happier with them.

I know they changed them and i've heard a lot of good things about them.

Ben, let's say I want to go with that size, 235/45/17, is it going to make the ride stiffer than sticking with the stock size of 225-50/17? What are the benefits and disadvantages of sticking with stock size?

You need to give more info than just "horrible". What made them so horrible? Wear, ride confort, turn in precision, dry/wet/snow traction, noise, hydroplain?

I'm shopping for tires myself and need to make as an informed desition as I can since I actually hated the lack of turn in precision of the last set of tires I bought and everyone swore by, the Falken 512s. Maybe what you weren't pleased about the KDWSs I'll like? :gotme:

According to the tire calc ( http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html ) 225/50 and 235/45 have sidewall heights of 4.4 and 4.2 inches, respectively.

Beyond the 2.1% speedometer error, I doubt you would notice any difference at all in the ride comfort of the two sizes. This is, of course, assuming you are comparing two tires of the same brand and model.

No. I have generic Ventus summer tires, they make too much noise and I could feel every crack on the street. Don't have them on now, have on my steele 15's. But I want to go with an all season. Hoping that for $73.00 each, the BF Goodrich do the trick.

yea i got them from tire rack. the tire also looks bad *** on the rim.

You too? I bought these tires for the S on the sidewall but they are almost as bad as the Potenzas in a light snow. They're good otherwise, but I was very upset with the amount of slippage I would get from a stop sign with them.

How's the road noice on the highway? Planning on getting them at Sears (using their 110% pricematching thing and giftcards), but sears.com doesn't show ASX for the 215/55/16 size (will have to check locally) so right now I'm leaning towards the 215/55/16 Traction T/A's

I am in the same boat. I am still running my 15" sawblades and don't intend to change at this time. I have distilled my choice down to BF Goodrich Traction TA (H) or Yokohama Avid H4S (H) in 215-60R-15. The BFG outperforms the Yokos in dry, wet and snowy conditions, as well as in handling. The Yokos outperform the BFGs in road noise and ride comfort.

Snow is not much of a consideration for me as the car is scarcely ever driven in snow.
Its almost come down to a coin toss, but I think I will go with the Traction TAs. The only concern I have is they are 25 pounds, compared to 21 for the Avid and 21 for the OEM Goodyear Eagle RSAs I'm currently running.

Will the 4 lb. weight increase adversely affect my fuel economy or acceleration?

By the way, Costco carries BFG and they have a sale starting on Monday, which runs for a week. I believe the BFG are on for $10 off per tire, which may be worth a look.
