Evo5's
Hey guys,
I'm considering getting 18in evo5's, but was wondering if there is anything special i need to look into. How do you think these rims would perform on infamous nyc streets? Would 18x8 with bolt pattern 5-114 fit w/o any problems? Also, what size tires should i get? tirerack.com recommends 235-40-18. Also, im riding on stock springs/struts, will I still have the horrible 4x4 look, or will it be hidden a little with the increase in rim size? Sorry about all the questions, but I don't know too much about wheels in general. Thanks for any help, Chris |
Evo 5s are notorious for their relatively soft structure, and probably won't hold up as well on NYC streets as other wheels will. 18x8s will fit with no prob, provided you don't get any crazy offsets. Just stick to something conservative like a +35 offset and you'll be fine. The horrible 4x4 look will be made even more obvious with the larger rims and smaller sidewall. I'd say lower the car first.

When Kloogy's car got rear ended, a chunk of his rear Evo5 wheel flew off. It should bend, not break!

That happens to all wheels, not just Evo's, if in an accident such as his.
