I don't know if this question was asked, but I noticed that the g35 18, seem to be front and rear biased. Would that matter?

ino20 01-17-2011 03:18 PM

Hey guys i read most of this thread (up to page 13 and the last 2 pages) I have just put on my g35 coupe wheels (18x8) wrapped in 245/40s now from my understanding my next set of wheels should be 235/40. My question is i have tein H-techs that i want to put on now would i have rubbing problems? Also i think my speedo is off when it says im going xx speed it feels like im going slower. I know the ride should be a little harsher and i can tell that. it just feels like it takes more effort to get up to speed and like im feeling a slight vibration in the back from 60-67mph. sorry for so many questions...

chinolatino215 04-17-2011 03:44 AM

Hey Just got a 4th gen maxima making this my 3rd one it's been awhile since I had a max and I haven't been on the org for along while so I'm back but I do need help due to a hectic work Schedule (stupid hospital work)

Well let me get to the point
I got a 4 gen 99
I want 19" G35 Rays Forged I know that front 8" and the rears 8.5"
I know i would need the 235/35/19 tire to get an accurate reading on the speedo or I can do withThe 245 tire which would will give more traction

What suspension set up should i go with
Im in Philly in the city road conditions are bumpy and some pot holes depending on area
Hopefully the suspension won't bottom out it used to happen my 2nd maxima had the gr2 with progress springs when ever I hit bump or wen I go up a hill in to a flat surface

Thx for any help in advance

Looking good shippedout.

Can anyone post a pic of a lowered 5th gen on the G35 Coupe base 17" wheels? I am looking for the coupe wheels specifically instead of the sedan wheels because of the concave in the spokes and the lower offset.

Are the wheels from a coupe or sedan?

Those look like coupes, the sedans hardly have any inset curve on the spokes. I hope that makes sense, compare them to mine bellow.

These rims are nice but a few things bother me. Center caps from 02-03 SE rims on here. Just had to hammer in the rear dome hub covers flat to get the rear caps to fit and then grind the rivets smooth on the backs of the front caps. Popped in about 98%, good enough I think.

1. The front offset I think is too much. The rears fill out perfectly though but I just dont like how the front sticks out.

2. There is rubbing in the rear. I did grind down the rear tab but still some grinding are large bumps.

3. The front wheel gap seems to have somehow gotten larger. I looks that way. I'm running eibachs by the way.

4. I am seriously considering putting the stock springs back on the rear. They have 100,000 miles so they of course would not be as high as brand new ones but I should gain a at least a half inch and it would even out the front wheel gap.

What do you guys think?

I picked up some 19 inch G35's which came with 245/40 and 255/40 tires. I have found a deal on some 225/40/19's. I'm wondering if 225 is going to be wide enough? Should I just go 235? (I'm not a fan of "stretched" tires on a DD. NYC roads don't have any mercy.)

i think 235 should be perfect for you, 225's are too thin and narrow and it doesn't make the wheels look good imo

I love rims that look staggered. If I run 235/40s in the back on the 18" G coupes on my lowered 5.5, can I run a small spacer on there without rubbing? If so, could do you think I could have the fenders rolled and fix it? I love the look of beefy rears sitting right out under the fender.:jump:http://www.googleiclouds.info/control/images/apple

You need to provide more information bro. Are you lowered, if so how low are you?, thickness of spacer do you plan to use and which one of the G35 rims and what offset is it. From my experience with the Infiniti rims I believe that it's a 18X8 so it won't rub at all, the Z rims are staggered 18X8.5 and they won't rub on a lowered car either, so basically it would depend on how low you go and what mm of spacer you plan to use. Do your homework

Noob question I'm sure.

I have 235/40R18 on my G35c's and I have no idea what the tire psi should be.

The wheel scene is new to me.

All I knew about my 15" sawblades was to not go by the sidewall recommendation, but to use the specified psi shown under the armrest @ 29psi.

My 15" said max 50psi iirc, and these 18" say 60psi max.

32psi is more than enough. Too much pressure will give you tire bulge.

245/45/17??

I have searched a bit and cant come up with anything definitive. Is anyone running 245/45/17 on the G35 Coupe wheels? I have always gotten the the 235/45/17 for these wheels, but I would like to try the 245s? I am lowered on Maxspeed springs. Any thought for me? Thanks.

I'm looking to purchase the 18" G35 coupe wheels for my 5th gen max and am a little uncertain on this matter as well. I'm thinking four front wheels all around? Will this be alright?

The 18" G35 aren't staggered so that doesn't matter.
Same width despite two saying they're for the rear
