235/40/18's with S-TECHS or H&Rs?
Yea, within the next month and 1/2 or so I'm planning on taking out my stock GXE suspension and hubcaps.. and put in some 18" muranos with some Nitto 555 235/40/18s.
My question is which springs should I buy? I'm caught in between H&Rs (maybe H-Techs) or S-Techs. Comfort isn't too big of an issue but the extra comfort that H&Rs and H-Techs have is attractive. At the sametime I think S-Techs would look better, but I'm worried about being too low/scraping with that extra 1/2 inch drop (...should I?).... So I'm torn in b/t the two, any experience or tips for a noob? :gotme: Thanks, 'preciate it. |
I've had 245/40 18 on S.techs for 2 yrs and no rubbing or scraping issues whatsoever. So you will definitely be fine! S.tech drop is very good looking but stiff and bumpy harsh ride! I got used to it about 2-3 months after install! You feel like a bobble head sometimes!

:sprint: I'm dropped on progress w/ 18" Muranos, and do not rub. You will be okay. Check the link for pics...

If you go with S Techs, make sure you get a strut that can handle the increased spring rate.

I have the s-techs with tokico illuminia struts...and I had the 235/40/18 and no rubbing issues and the ride was actually pretty good.

i have some used s techs for sale if you want. if you're looking for comfort, and you're going to ride on 18s, i wouldn't go with s techs. i disliked them with my 17s. my setup was 225/40/17 s. tech springs and illumina struts.
about the springs, give me an offer i can't refuse |
if you don't care how your car handles and all you care about is looks, then go w/ S-Techs. Either way, you shouldn't have any problem rubbing.
