Can you put cables on 6th gen SE?
 
Manual says you cant use chains, but what about cables?

if you want to tear up your aluminum wheels.....

if you live in an area where chains/cables are needed, you really should invest in some snow tires...

I thought it was a question of clearance, not of scratching the wheels.

I don't see why there would be a clearance issue if you're on stock wheels. after all, people put MUCH wider wheels on their maximas with no problems.

I figured they said not to do it so as not to scratch the faces of the aluminum wheels :gotme:

Wider than 245? You sure? One reason the turning radius is so lousy is the large width of the tires, so clearance is at the limit already.
