Tire comparison
Ok, I think that I've narrowed down the tires that I'm purchasing this month.
Here are my criteria that I'm after:
- low road noise
- long tread life
- good wet traction (snow n/a - I've Kumho KW-17 studded rally tires)
- price
Here are my picks:
Falken Ziex ZE-512 (UTQG: 360-A-A) $125CAD
Fuzion HRi (UTQG: 400-A-A) $120CAD
Hankook Ventus HRII H405 (UTQG: 340-A-A) $120
Kumho Ecsta 711 (UTQG: 320-AA-A) $115
I am aware that the Fuzion's have decent tread life, and that the Kumho's have the lowest - that usually means the 711's grip really well and the Fuzion are not as sticky. Anyone have experience with the Falkens or Hanooks?
Opinions are welcome!

Throw all those out the window and go with Toyo Proxes4........
hands-down better than any you listed for all-season performance, noise, ride, wet traction, and the price is very affordable.
best price at www.edgeracing.com

Do yourself a favor and don't get the falkens. I endorsed them fully when I first got them but 15-20k later they sucked. I wish I could get rid of them now at only 25k but I don't have the financial means to do so as of yet. Toyo proxes 4's all the way.

If you bought Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, you will be lucky to get halfway to 75k. Ask me how I know

Where'd you find those prices?

One piece of advice: Don't compare treadwear ratings across tire brands. I also had Toyo Proxes 4s, and I can tell you for damn sure that they did not wear any more quickly than the 400-treadwear Bridgestone Potenza G009s I had before them.
I second the vote for Toyo Proxes 4s in this case. They have great treadwear for how they perform, and more importantly, they continue to perform as they wear. Wet traction and lateral grip are superb, especially for the price.

I have about 47K on my Pilot Sport A/S and at my last rotation I still had about 6/32 to 7/32 tread left. But last week I took a left turn around 25MPH and they broke loose. It was about 10 degrees out but no snow. Could have hit some black ice, or the tires just don't have the grip anymore. Tried to brake and the ABS kicked in, but I still hit the curb pretty hard. I'm waiting for them to fix it. Needs new right axle, knuckle assembly, strut and wheel.
