widest wheels on a 4th gen

hey guys i have sportmax 235-40-18's with a 35 or 37mm offset i forget and they fit fine and almost flush in the front and i know alot of you guys would suggest that size but im looking for something wider for superb handling at time attack racing and good traction... I DONT want a rwd offset like bigger tires in the back n such

so my question is, with the right offset whats the widest tire i can fit in the front without rubbing on what size rim sitting about flush to the fender?
keep in mind my cars dropped alot on k sport coilovers

like i heard 255's fit fine, but i was wondering if a 265 would fit?

and another idea i had was...
put some over-fenders / fender flares whatever you want to call it on and mold it to the body so it doesnt look ****ty and put 275's on all the way around does anybody have pics with these installed on the car?

also i would like to c some pictures of maxima's with 255's and up from all angles if you can
btw try not to post them in links cuz most of the times i cant even view them cuz my computers really crappy

sorry for being such a PITA, and i DID try to use the search button and found a few but i wanted to know what you guys would suggest exspecially on a low car n such and need lots of pictures thanks guys!

I know 255's fit with the correct offset/width. I dont know about 265's, i was tempted to do it, but i only have a 17" rim and its 8" wide. But i know 265/35/18 is almost an perfect fit in terms of keeping the overall diameter the same.

yeah, i was wondering if i rolled the inside of my fender if 265's would work
and im still in a debate if i want 18s or 17's i have 18's on my car now but they dont look that big, maybe cuz the lips kinda thuck so it takes away from the inside diamter of the wheel

Go 17s if you want performance and brake clearence...

As far as width, you don't have to go that wide unless you just want to look badass

I would say go with 17 x 9 +35.... 265s or even 275s may fit but I can't promise anything...go with 255s to be safe, they should be wide enough Obviously roll your rear fenders...

Im running 18 x 9.5 +35 with 245/40s all around...

Would have gone with 255s, but I got a decent deal on these...

correct sir, unless he cambers the fronts. hint hint...

widest tire w/o rolling fenders in the front, most likely 255's. you can go with 265's and have some negative camber why not? BUT obviously wheel offset and width would be a concern due to inner rubbing on turns.

i have 255s on 17x9s. MINOR rubbing on plastic things when wheels are turned to full lock. As far as fenders rubbing...since I'm on eibachs, I could have the wheels stick out as much as I want, and I think the struts would bottom out before the wheel hit the fender.

Wish my car was slammed

haha, no kidding. Didn't he put some 17X10s with 275s on his max? Not 100% on that, but I do remember him saying he only drove it around the block, so he might not know how well they fit overall.

heres another question for you guys, right now i have 235's on 18x7.5s and i wondering how much i would benefit during launches and cornering upgrading to 255's i deff. like that you can have a bigger lip like a 3" lip compared to my 2-1/4's but is the pefromance great? or would i be better off even going up another step getting some over-fenders and running 275's all the way around? my car is a daily driver and i do take it to dragracing events such as imports and get horrible traction but i do want to race it at some time attack tracks and maybe auto-x so would the 255's be more sufficient then the 235s or go for 275's AND i know i could do r compounds but thats not worth it for just a race here n there i want it to get good traction just driving around so i could corner at highspeeds and take it to a track when i want thanks guys

From what I gather, you didn't pass 2nd grade. Punctuate, then I'll attempt to answer your question. I'm afraid reading that will make me dumber...

I skimmed through it...guess I'll be nice..

You don't really need to go beyond 255s for our purposes...just get some sticky tires and 8.5-9 inch wide wheels...

Wow, you're brave. And yes, you don't need wider than 255's. Mine can be pushed to limits that I should never drive at....but I still do sometimes

super sticky 245 or 255s on lightweight 17x 8 or 9 wide. nuff said. this aint no drag car. its a 4door family sedan. with the exception of DandyMax. plus its your DD. and unless you have the power, dont bother with even wider tires. you dont loose traction that easily. what tires are you rolling on anyways? A/S??

I lose traction with my 245s...but granted they aren't the stickiest (Khumo SPTs)...

im using crappy nankang ns II's i plan to switch onto general exclaim UHP's, im pretty sure you guys convinced me to switching to 255's. I'm going to do it on either 17x9 or 18x8.5 rims (basically the only ones I like). I think that the 17's may look a little small on my car although they are better for racing. Anyone have pictures of their 4th gen with 17's? possibly lowered. Sorry about the punctuation and such I was in a rush before leaving the house, thanks again guys!

Tires are for a lot more than acceleration and you know this.

That said with a stock VQ30 and A/S 245s I rarely break traction. Sometimes even when it's raining and I gun it through first they hold.

Yeah, 17x19 +35 FN01RCs with 275/40 V710s or something (some autocross tire, can't remember exactly) that thing looked badass

I've been busy with other stuff.... here's some pics
17x8.5 +40 with a 255/40 is pretty flush and no rubbing... (front only, rear is wider)

17x9 +34 with 255/40 race tires, minor contact in the rear...(also in sig)

17x9 +34 with 275/40s never raced on them.

The monsters 17x10 +35 with 275/40s fronts cleared on the trip around the block, rears will hit when fully compressed. unknow if the fronts will hit when fully compressed.

...yeahhh.... but that means youre not driving hard enough. ive lost traction with uhp summer 235's when i went canyon driving. the rear swung out pretty nicely and on some of the turns the whole car would slide sideways. but then again thats constantly pushing the limits.

Beating the fawk out of the car != driving at the limit. I have had the tail come out at 80mph but it is not a common occurrence since most of my driving is "fun around town" style.

I used to drive an 86 volvo station wagon and I would just romp that car in the mountains (helps when it was raining), every turn was squealing tires or at least a squirrelly exit, intentionally lock up the fronts on entry etc

FWIW, I considered the V710 in 265/45/16 2 yrs back. Turned out it wasn't all that wide vs a 245/45 Hoosier and it wasn't worth the weight & gearing penalty. Sorry, bad lighting and the V710 in the pic is shifted up a bit. 9.2" treadwidth was plenty for me.
