New Nismo Rays - Need Input

Well, I finally picked up some A34 Nismo Rays and could not be happier. I need your input though as to what I should do with the center cap. I've extracted the logo from the stock wheel caps and am wondering if I should put it on the new center caps or just leave them black. Here are comparison pictures.

So what will it be?

Looking at your pictures cklamer, the wheels really do look clean. The chrome effect of the emblem does kind of deter the overall cleanness of the wheel...plus it might take away from the wheel in general. Looks like I'll leave them off. Thanks for the input guys.

WELCOME!

Hope you enjoy the wheels and just a note you have to keep the air pressure around 35 PSI and the ride is great. You feel a few more of the cracks in the road but it's nothing to worry about in the ride quality.

My wife and I just took a road trip to Atlanta and she road like a dream and I am looking forward to a longer road trip coming up in October to the Jacksonville Florida area for a week. The trip is about 8 hours one way.

without looks good, but "with" depends on the wheel, my friend's Z has 19" Ray's and looks good with the Nissan caps.

Yeah, it looks like I'll be keeping the tires at around 36psi. I'm running a 35 profile (40 throws the speedo off too much and I fear rubbing issues w/ a 1.5" drop). If the ride is a little rougher, no problem. To me, I like to feel the road. Looking forward to getting these things mounted and balanced!

Well that was my whole reason for making the thread. I'd be using adhesive to place the emblems on the center caps which retains a certain amount of permanence to this decision. The tires/wheels are going to be mounted and balanced as soon as a friend get's his new machine in at the dealership he works at.

if you want a more oem look, slap the emblem on. if you want a cheesy looks-like-a-knock-off look, dont put the emblem on.

The tire size for the Nismo Rays is 245/40-19 and shouldn't change the speedometer reading at all because they should be the same diameter overall as the stock size rim and tire set up 245/45-18's.

Now if you go with the 245/35-19 you will have some change in the speedometer reading but probably not much.

Well after you get the car back try the center caps with the emblem with less permanent adhesive like a rolled up piece of scotch tape just something to hold it on while you take a look at it.

Actually, going with a 245/35/19 tire helps my speedometer read more accurately. Going from a 205/50/17 to a 245/35/19, the speedometer should read 46.22mph going 45mph.

Going with a 245/40-19 would result in a 48mph overall speed when my speedometer would read 45mph. I think you were under the assumption that these were going on a 6th gen. I have a 5.5 gen.

They're on and look AMAZING! What a ***** mounting 35 series tires on a 19" rim though! However, I am not posting pictures until the Illuminas/H-techs come in

I think I'm only the 2nd member to have these ona a 5th gen, correct?

Just got my Nismo set delivered 2 days ago, ordered some Kumho LX platinum 245/40/19 tires should be here in 3-5 days. Cant wait to put these beauties on. I think they'll look great on any Nissan (with appropriate drop).

You gonna use those black lugs? i want to use my wheel locks for my car but its gonna look silly having black lugs and 1 chrome wheel lock.... what to do?...

Yeah, so I've decided to go without. If anything, it'll make the wheel all the more inconspicuous. I'm just waiting for my Teins to get here and I'll snap some pics for you guys.

rays engineering has the black wheel locks i believe. Discount tire is a dealer with Rays, i'm sure they can hook you up. I would recommend going with Rays b/c i believe you will need a thin-wall/narrow wheel lock to fit in the rim without scratching the rims.

btw, WITHOUT...b/c they look more sleek and clean. you can always add them later to switch it up a bit.

Wheels cost $622 out the door from the dealership.

Tires cost $400 shipped. Went with Nexen N3000's. No complaints so far!
Bought 2 locally. All 4 brand new.

Total wheel tire package $1022. A steal if you ask me.

You want a steal? Get the wheels even cheaper

Go to Live.com, search for "Wii". At the very top there's an eBay/Paypal/Microsoft sponsored link for 30% off. Click through it. Once you're on eBay, search for "Nismo maxima 19" - one of the sellers has a set of 4 on sale for $550 shipped (brinster34, the seller is a Nissan dealership based out of Virginia).

Microsoft will give you 30% cash back for the purchases made within 30 minutes of clicking the link on Live.com, via Paypal, within several weeks.

Your net cost should come out to $385 for the wheels
