Pics: Dupli-color silver wheel paint on G35 wheels
As some might know, thanks to some curbs (and lack of matching infiniti paint color for them) I repainted my G35 18s last year with a regular dupli-color silver paint (standard "silver").
Well, they looked ok but didn't have the same luster that wheels should have, so today I repainted one of them using Dupli-color wheel coating paint, which has a metallic finish.
Just wanted to show the final result. On the left is the repainted wheel, and as you can see it is much more reflective and in person has that factory "sparkle" to it. Also the finish is very smooth, and it really looks like it came that way. On the right is one that I painted last year, and as you can see it doesn't have much luster or sparkle/reflectivity to it, and the finish is not as smooth.
Camera and light were more or less directly overhead, so the two wheels are getting equal lighting in this photo.
Nothing spectacular, but the devil's in the details, right?

It holds up very well to heat, I use two coats of the clear they have over the color... Gives a deeper shiny look.

They're not on the car yet (still winter here), but I don't expect any problems....the wheels really don't get very much heat from the brakes.

Did mine in gunmetal rim paint 2 years ago, no clear coat, jjust hand polished, no problems by brake dust, or dirt, road salt, etc. highly recommend
