Kumho KU27

Anyone have a reason to talk me out of getting a set of the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinums?

I just put a set of these on my 08 TL. They were a 17inch W speed rating which is a little different from the Maxima but overall, for their low price, I would recommend them. The noise level matches anything from the top level tires from Michelin or Bridgestone. They handle both dry and wet weather very well. Only thing I'm a little disappointed in so far is the ride quality is a little bit firmer then I thought which allows a little bit more than what I would like into the cabin but definitely not very harsh or uncomfortable by a long shot. Ten times better than OEM Goodyear, Michelin, or Bridgestone tires. But I was coming from Bridgestone Serenity's which were excellent in the ride quality department so you can't have everything.

Yea, the W rating does concern me a little. I don't want to feel every crack in the road. As long as they are quiet and handle well though, I can trade a little comfort.

Well like I said, that is the only speed rating they came in for my TL's tire size. I believe they come in the V speed rating for the Maxima. Just look it up on tirerack and you'll find out. The V is the rating below the W so you should be fine. They may even take it one step further and come in H speed rating.

94W for the 215/55/17. I think they go down to a V once you hit 16".
I was also pondering the KU16, but have read a few comments about too soft in the handling even though they are a V.

I went for the Ku27's and my initial impressions are very positive. Nice and quiet and smooooth riding. Haven't tested them yet for performance. I'll wait 'till I have a few more miles on them.
