dj tes just told you.. 5.5 gen GLE rims

This one here is a 2003 Maxima GLE

Also, the guy could just be mistaken. He may have had them on his Altima for whatever reason and thus thinks they are Altima wheels. Lots of people get all this stuff confused. The guy I sold my 6th gen wheels to a couple weeks ago was literally convinced they were Altima wheels.

what size tires should i get for it to fit the 3rd gen?
the tires that are on now are 225 / 55 / R17

You got all 4 of those for $50?? Or did you mean $50 a piece?

There's no reason they shouldn't fit. You shouldnt need longer wheel studs or anything. What do you mean they won't fit on the rears? Do they rub the struts or what?

I ran 17" 6 th gen wheels for nearly a year with that same tire size and they fit fine. So how exactly do those not fit on your car?

True proper size on 17s for a 3rd gen would be 215/50/17 to keep the speedo most accurate but most people would probably go with 225s

i mean when i took my rim out and tried to put this new one on, the studs didnt stick out as much as on my 15' rim does, they look shorter cause it feels like either the part where the stud go (the offset) is too is too wide on the rim so it makes the studs shorter or something and i felt the behind the rim and the tire touches the strut so i know itll rub and wear out fast. i dont know if this helps but i have drums in the rear wheels i dont have discs maybe this is why i need a narrower tires in the back.

the rims say 17x7 in the back

Well, yeah, the studs don't stick out as far as on the stockers, but you can still thread the lugnuts all the way on. And the tire shouldn't quite touch the strut. Are you positive it was actually touching?

Definitely NOT safe to not tighten the lugs down all the way. I also don't think you quite understood what he meant. What he meant was, that these alloy wheels will show the stud differently than a steel wheel. As long as you tighten them properly (with a torque wrench) then you will be fine. If you're worried, take them to a tire shop and they should be able to handle it for you.

In for pics

And yeah, like Truff said, I think you misunderstood what I meant. I didn't mean that it's okay to not thread the lugnuts all the way on, I just meant that with the 5th gen wheels, it doesn't LOOK like the studs stick through the lug holes as far as on the stockers. But I guarantee you can thread the lugnuts all the way on

yea i misunderstood.
i was comparing how much they stuck out from the stockers to the new rims and it was almost exact. i still think the back wheels barely touch the tires tho, there really really close. might get 225/ 50 / 17 in the back or i might get 215 / 55 / 17 on all four. ill post a pic inna minute i have to upload it.
