255/35/20 on a 20x10.5"?
Hey all, just wondering if anybody has experience with a 255/35/20 tire on a 20x10.5" wheel? Specifically a Federal SS-595 tire, but any experience will help. Some people say it isn't much of a stretch, but the amount of stretch is subjective.

not much of a stretch at all... go to www.tyrestretch.com and check some of the pics out. They dont have your exact setup but some are close. If your worried about rubbing run moar stretch

Its really not a stretch at all. Personally I would run a 245 30 20 or in your case a 245 35 20. The Federals are not a soft tire so the installer might have a few problems if they don't have much experience or the right mounting machine. They might actually bust the tire bead if not careful.

Rood, yeah I looked at tyrestretch.com, I've tried to do as much research as I can. I also browsed through the tire stretch thread on the vipstylecars forum.
dubsonmax, I was thinking of 245/35's, but was worried about what you stated, the mounting of the tire. I suppose there should be plenty of installers around this area who have experience with stretching tires, do any of you know a general cost? Does it cost more to install?
Another thing to worry about is removing and remounting the tires since I would have to in order to rotate my tires from side to side, which is one reason I'd prefer the 255/35 over the 245/35, unless it wouldn't be an issue assuming the installer knows what they're doing.
I currently have 20x8.5" with a +27 effective offset and 245/35/20 tires with no rubbing in the back (fenders slightly modified). I'm looking at some 20x10.5" +30 wheels for the back, which size tires do you guys think would be best all around (ride, fit, rub, etc)?

Yeah for the rears. What offset are you running? I'm assuming something in the 40's with that profile tire. I'm trying to run a +30, that's why I'm going for a narrower tire. +30 because I'm getting tired of seeing too much wheel well.
