toyo vs. hankook tires? which are better

im looking to buy tires for the 20s that i want. my choices are between toyos proxes 4 or some hankook tire. the size is 225-45-20. they will only be used in the summer and early fall. o and one more question, are 20s not a good idea since i need such skinny tires that wont protect me from anything really. would the large rims be too easy to damage with these skinny tires???

"Some Hankook tire"? You'll have to be a little more specific...

Tires

I had toyo's put in about 1 year ago,and even though they still have 80% of their thread, they've become so noisy at slow speeds that I;m thinking about replacing them. I even switched them back to front to no improvement.
Can anyone recommend a better tire? I have the Proxes.
Thanks

Wow, we're really flexing the precision muscles here, aren't we?

Which Toyo Proxes? Proxes 4? Proxes TPT? Proxes FZ4? Proxes T1-R? Proxes T1-S?

The Toyo question was directed at supermotard. The Hankook question was directed at you.

Uhhhhh get the Toyooks!!!! J/K If you are just looking for a cheap priced tire, go with the Hankooks, but they have a lower treadwear rating I believe than the Toyo's. Your best bet would be either the Toyo Proxes FZ4 or even the newer Proxes 4 and another choice would be the General Exclaim UHPs in that size. There are some members on here running Generals including me and have had good things to say about them. Quiet tire, and softer sidewall if you are looking for a cheap tire with decent to above average quality.

Isn't anyone going to say what Hankooks they're talking about? You all do know that Hankook is a company that makes more than one tire, right?

Nonono, you don't get it. Either all of the Hankooks are better in every way than Proxes 4s, or vice versa.

It's quite obvious.

No, really.

I Have HAnkook on the front and they dont have any good grip. The back ones are Goodyear and should be bettyer tires.
