Michelin or Bridgestone or Pirelli??
 

Looking to replace the original rubber on my 2013 Maxima and could use some input from the faithful posters on here. Narrowed it down to 3 all seasons in the identical price range....

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3
Bridgestone Turanza EL-400
Pirelli Cinturato P7

Why all seasons? Doesn't say what part of the country you're in so I am assuming you get snow? if you do get snow then why not a winter tire for winter and Summers. They really don't add to the cost of ownership at all as depending on how you drive you get really good life out of the tires because of the switching.

IMHO The Michelin Pilot's when 50% worn are TOTAL garbage and un-useable. All of those are junk. I'd go with either the Hankooks OR the Pirelli Pzero.

From the north and already own a decent set of Hankook's to get me through the winter. Interesting thought however....I've never considered driving winters all year long.

I am about to remove my studs and I need new summer tires. I am a pretty mellow driver so high performance tires are a complete waste of money for me. I value high mileage, noise and comfort in that order.

I am having a Hard time deciding between Michelin Defender's and Pirelli P4's. Both have good and bad reviews. Both have people that say they get 80k out of them and both have people that say they are shot after 35k. Does anyone have an opinion on either of these?

I currently have Michelin MXV4's which I got about 80K out of with a bit of tread left. I guess I could go for another set but I generally look for the longest life tire for the money. I don't mind an expensive tire because they usually seem to save money in the long run.

Tough choice. I got no more than 35k out of Micheline MXV and now believe Micheline in general are dishonest about their treadwear ratings. Had Goodyear Eagle for a while, with 3/4 treadwear rating (400 vs 630) and they still have tons of tread while Micheline are down to wear indicators.

Those reviews are useless. Most compare their new set of whatever tires with the old shot tires they had and praise the difference which is really apples and oranges. Some say X tire is garbage, with huge wear, vibration and hydroplanning, while others say it is the best tire they ever had. I quit reading reviews on TireRack for this exact reason: some are sock puppets and trolls, others don't know what the hell they are writing about.

Bridgestone Potenza Re970 .. Excellent tire... I have had hundreds of tires over the years.. I was a Michelin guy for years.. These Potenzas are very nice... about $900 for the set.... Run 255/45/18.. will be going to 19 inch soon in the same tire... well a 255/40/19.....
