Do you have the codes for the check engine light?

Do you know if the inspection people are plugging their machine into the CONSULT connector or the OBD connector?

The ECU sends info to both ports via data communications, but uses different wires for the different ports.

Since you got OBD codes, that kind of says that the inspection people are using the CONSULT connector. I always thought that they used the OBD port.

Compass relay??????? There is no relay of any type involved in sending data to the CONSULT connector or the OBD connector. There are wire harness connectors between the ECU and the CONSULT connector, but no relay.

The codes are 0600 0500. So what and where is consult connecter ? They're using the OBD connector under dash to inspect the emission.

the CONSULT connector is along side the fuse panel. you have to remove the fuse panel cover to see/use it.

OBD code P0500 is the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). It is in the transmission.

Code P0600 is the TCM (Transmission Control Module) not sending signals to the ECM. The TCM is under the center console, just in front of the shift lever.

But as I said earlier, if an OBD code reader works, the ECM is communicating. Go to another inspection station.

Consult connector on the A32 is only for Nissan use.

Later Nissan models combined the Consult communications to the OBD2 connector.
