Instead of just listing what i want my car to sound like, i was hoping ppl would help me categorize mufflers/exhaust systems by sound in this thread.

Format:
-Muffler/Exhuast Name: brand/model, how much of the total exhaust is replaced from stock
-Type of sound: volume, shape of sound, does it pop on switch or when letting off gas (ex. Low grumble, slightly muffled)
-Source of parts or additional info: stores/sites that sell; link to youtube video that matches type of sound.

Much appreciated for the help, i hope this helps a lot more ppl than just me.

As you might have guessed im looking for a grumbling sound, audible at low revs, but muffling full volume of engine still.

We have an exhaust thread ..... albeit a bit dated.

Sound is subjective on the internet. Youtube is your best bet.

no doubt there is some subjective opinion, but there are prolly aspects of each exhaust that every person will commonly identify.

Thanks for the link though. One thing a lot of vids are missing is under load revs, which sound way better imo.

I've got a 3" BRM catback with 3" high flow cat and headers for my exhaust. I've been meaning to make an exhaust video for a while now. I'll try to make one soon and I'll post it here. I love the sound and all my friends and family think it sounds like a race car. At idle it almost sounds like a big truck. It's definitely loud, and if you plan on driving on the highway/freeway you definitely gotta wear ear plugs.

OBX headers, to full mandrel bent home made exhaust welded to the STOCK muffler. No cats...Fuel trims tanked.....so it's moving more air. With 3" muffler, too damn loud...welded on stock muffler, damn near stock sounding until you punch it. Fuel trims didn't budge much.
