I took my auto 2k maxima to the track last night and got a 15.8@88.14 mph. My tires are very bald but I got a good launch. Does anyone know some techniques for racing in a auto?

 

Are you modded? Because that's about what a stock Auto 2000 should be running.

Well, you ran a pretty good time for pretty much stock. I've never raced an auto at the track but powerbrake off the line. Stick it in first and shift when you get close to redline.

 

Yeah that's basically what i did, i didn't think there was much more to it. I ran a 16.1 without shifting the first time. I'm thinking i can get around 15.6 with new tires and better launch. My 60" time was 2.43, so that could be improved.

 

Did you just leave it in drive? or did you "manually" shift? do you leave overdrive on, or off? does it matter?

 

The best run I did is 15.413 @ 92.121 MPH on my 2k2 SE auto. Only mod on it is the frankencar mid pipe and JWT pop charger. Plus it was my 1st time running. Next time I should strip my car down.
