Questions for the track next spring...

Next spring I plan on taking my max to the track to get some numbers (that is if I decide to keep it after all the crap ive been hearing from the 5th gen forum). First off, what can I expect as far as times, whats the potential for it, and do I leave the TCS on or off? I've tried to take off many times with the TCS off and on and I get a pretty mad burn out (bad traction=bad time). However, with the TCS on, the light blinks and it bogs down if I get any chirps. Neither one helps the times at all. So, suggestions? Oh and btw, I've got a 2k maxima SE auto (stock).

You definitely need to have TCS off. If you leave it on, it'll actually cut power and slow you down a lot overall. A little wheelspin is what you want to help get you started fast, but too much wheelspin and you'll smoke the tires and be slower.

In stock trim you should be good for at least a very high-15, or possibly a 16-flat depending on the track/conditions. With manual shifting at redline (gotta practice so you don't bounce off of the rev-limiter), people here have hit mid-15's stock also.

You are looking at 15.6-16.4 as a typical range for a stock automatic.
