Is this legal to do?

I was just wondering if anybody knows whether or not it is legal to put tape over the grill and valence to make it more aerodynamic at the track?

Thanks!

For one run it wouldnt overheat the engine. I was just wondering if anyone had tried it or knew if it was legal. The nascar guys tape up everything on the front when the qualify.

its not going to bring your ET down anything relevant

and you want that air being rushed in there, or else they wouldnt have designed it that way

I have not read anything in the regulations against it. However I think the reason its so beneficial to NASCAR is that they are going 200 MPH most of the time not just accelerating up to 100.

I doubt it would be any help but anything is worth trying as long as it doesn't affect the heat too much. A fan switch to turn on at the end of the 1/4 would help a bit too.

Yeah...also make sure you fold in your side view mirrors as well. I have dropped .3 sec just from doing that.

I don't doubt the car has gotten quicker. I just don't think or believe .3 got cut off b/c of the mirrors being folded in. I guarantee if you post slips we can find reasoning in the numbers as to why you improved...
