What's up all! Personally, I cant wait to get out and race the Max, and watch other cars rumble down the strip.

Im in Chicago.
Our home tracks - Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI and Byron Dragaway in Byron/Rockford, IL both open on early April. We have had years where we get snow until May, and I hope this year with the nice stretch of weather we've been having, we can avoid early Spring bad weather.

Cattman Ypipe and Berk Intake being delivered as we speak. Those are my only two mods. I will run minus ps front seat, and minus trunk mat/carpet, jack/spare/tools, 1/8th tank of gas, on my way to a 14.50 at 96mph. That's my goal for the early part of Spring.

Keeping track of Elon, 6spd Hayes, to see how much of a difference light wheels/bfg combo's makes, so I can gauge whether I should fork over $400+ for the combo...

Chime in people.

Tracks are open now, and I plan to run 13.5's or better all motor if it stays cool enough.

We will find out what the BF Goodrich G Force DR's and the light Konig Traffiks do this weekend. The tires are being mounted to the rims as we speak,uh, read. I was 0.2 sec slower on the last outting (I think temperature related). This Saturday night starts our local MidNite Madness at the local Huntsville DragWay. Should be fun. Oh, and I have a comment on the Tree.

When you guys have ran at an 1/8th or 1/4 mile, what kind of tree do they use? Our local just changed to an LED tree. For some reason, I was KILLING the Reaction times. I ran several 0.507 to 0.587s (on a 0.500s tree). It may be a diference in lag time of the old bulb set up. Where the LED is almost instantaneous. I don't know, guess I will just see again Saturday night!!! (Will post up some pics in my old post about Steelies and Drag Radials soon!!!)

You will be well into the 8's with the BFG's. The couple tracks I run at use bulb lighted trees which fades in and out if that makes any sense. I wish they would switch to LED's only if they were NHRA tracks.

i am going to the track in englishtown maybe this Sunday. With a little practice I hope to run low 14's. I have a definitive UDP, exedy clutch, budget y and b-pipe with a magnaflow muffler, HTR + tires with lightweight 17" rims, kyb agx struts with progress springs, unorthodox flywheel, a Pace-setter Short-shifter, frankencar intake with an apexi filter, and a fresh tune-up from spark-plugs to oil-change. Can't wait to take it to the track, I've never dragged my max before but I am a pretty good driver.

Once I get back out to Ennis I will be shooting for mid-14s. If I get better than that then that's cool...just trying to be realistic.

My track opens this month. I'm going for my second time on the 20th. Last year I got a 15.72 this year I hope to get better than that. I really need to learn how to launch. My 60' were 2.5 all day long. So hopefully I can figure out how to get nice launches this year and get 2.3's preferably 2.2-2.1
I've been picking up tips from all the posts so hopefully that will help me out.

Guess you trust my judgement on what kinda times you'll run eh? i'm hopin for similar times, hopefully low 14's. If blubyu2k2 can do it (and much better), whats to stop me?

Lookin online, I think I might hit up the New England Dragway up in NH on April 16th (my gf is goin away its only... 2.5 hours from me) Then I'll have some new slips to show off at the UConn show the following day. Ya, that sounds like a good plan. Woohoo now I gotta think of what mod I should put on before then.... b-pipe?

Yeah, it makes sense. Oh, as far as trusting your judgement, you shouldn't even be asking a question you know the answer to

If you have the $$ to get a bpipe, go get some bfg's/nittos in lieu of bpipe. Believe it or not, the price is almost equivalent for two bfg's/nittos compared to a budget or cattman bpipe. Sticky tires = Low et's obviously, the bpipe MIGHT help on the top end. With bfg's no reason you couldn't cut 2.0's and 2.1's - no sweat.

Elon,

Both tracks I run at have the .500 bulb-lit trees, and not leds. Led's are nice, but I have never run on em, so I can't comment.

No track time for me until April 9th at the earliest, when it opens, more likely the 14th is when I'll hit the track. I can't wait to test out some of my mods. I'm shooting for anything in the 14's

I wish I had enough hours in a day to work and to do the college thing here cause I'd pick up a set of those Hotshot Headers in a moment. +20 WHP and +17 torque with a HUGE amount of area between the stock curve and headers curve. They make significant power thru the entire powerband from what the dyno looks like (cant see the RPMs but it looks like a wide range dyno) I think those will be my next mod. Wish I had kept my stock muffler, gonna want something very quiet with headers on. according to my Cartest program, with a 25 (flywheel hp gain) and 20 torque (flywheel) i'd be running 14.2s at 100 mph. That would be just AWSOME! I'm soooooo psyched these headers made good gains.

and then... combined with the TS ECU (if it really does gain 10-15 horse and torque) that'd be putting the Max in 13's territory... ya, definatly got all my income pre-spent

I just got back from englishtown tonight. My best time was a 14.782 @ 93.8mph with a 2.35 60'. My mods are frankencar intake and budget ypipe. I took out my passenger seat, spare and jack, and was running 24psi in my stock sawblades.

There were way too many cars racing tonight. I only got 3 runs in and I let my friend run the last one. He got 15.2 @92 with a 2.38 60'. You can't F**k wit my driving. hehe.

Yo if you ever wanna go down to etown together just pm or email me. We'll get a meet going. I know a few maxima's around my area that will come along with us.

down south the dragstrips never really close, maybe 3 weeks around december. So really the office season is in the summer (90 degrees plus) but the dragways are still open.

Im not sure how soon i will make the swap but have plans to snag the MEVI, and hopefullly technosquare will have the rev limiter figured out in another month or two.

i want to add the headers to this setup, but with all the track time I have put in. Its time for some maintance mods and general inspection of the old girl.

im looking forward to hearing all the reports from you guys , report in !

Gonna get some track time on the 14th while I'm visiting my brother in Oklahoma. Don't really expect good times at that track....maybe 14.3-14.4.

April 17th I am going to Byron dragway here in IL and hope to have my slicks by then. If I get a 13.8 it will make my day, but a 13.999999999 will work for me.

My track opens this Sunday. The weather looks promising, but I'm really not expecting any new bests. The track will probably be pretty slick from no one racing for nearly 4 months. I'll go back a few weeks later with my Budget B-pipe, BFG DRs, and 25lb lighter battery. With this setup I'm hoping for 14.2s or so. Anything more is just gravy.
