took the car back to the track today...

first time back to the track with the SC setup...

- MIR: Maryland International Raceway-

best time of the day was...

60' - 2.269
1/8 - 8.892
MPH- 85.02
1/4 - 13.401
MPH- 109.97

mods...
V1 Blower - 3.125 pulley - 10psi
SC CAI
JWT SC ECU (a32 MAFS)
370cc injectors
VI
Y-pipe

-no passenger seating, no spare, no jack
-93 octane gas
-removed passenger side foglight
-temps in upper 50s

my clutch is basically toast, i really need to get the new gear in so i can run slicks and get into the 12s. with the trap speeds the car was putting down i dont think it should be too big of a problem.

Very nice time. I saw you ran today there.

MY best times.
R/T .983 ( still needed work)
60' 2.301
330 6.227
1/8 9.442
MPH 77.05
1000 12.219
1/4 14.561

Congrats of the stellar ET and massive MPH. I'm very impressed. You'll be in the 12s with slicks. No doubt about that. I really want a V1 now.

What is this new gear you speak of? BTW with your trap speed you should be good for a 12.7-12.8. I ran a 13.1@105 on slicks with a 1.9 60'

drag racing is not ALL about ET....trap speeds are another big figure. i believe neal was trapping 99-101 on slicks? to only be .2 faster time wise doesnt seem like that much...but 99-100mph vs. 109-110mph through the trap is like comparing apples to oranges. the trap speed is a reflection of what the car is 'capable' of pulling in the ET. in these vids you can see how worn my clutch is and if on slicks there is no doubt that i could see as low as a 12.6...so 12.6 vs. 13.6 when both on slicks. but it hasnt happened yet and may never happen. 13.6 NA by neal is a crazy thing to think about and is a GREAT time. but i guess i am just sticking up for myself here.

Sorry about thinking about Neal's time when you posted yours...

I recognize your car as being fast and if you are looking to see what kind of power the car holds, you will look at trap speeds. Don't get me wrong though, I've seen vids of you running against Jay.

you must have me confuse with someone else...JAY is in atlanta and i am in MD. the vids i was refering to were the in-car vids from the track where you can see my gauge cluster and the RPMs are not so 'snappy' when going into the next gear.

I just noticed that your Maxima is gaining 25mph in the final 1/8th. That's unreal. Were you consistently getting 25mph in the last 1/8th mile yesterday?

That's wicked. 22mph is considered fast and 25-26mph is nearly the type of acceleration a Corvette Z06 has. I ran a 04 Cobra yesterday who had ~450rwhp. He gained 27mph in the final 1/8th mile. He was running consistent 12.7-12.8@117mph. He would probably have been closer to 120mph if there wasn't a 25-30mph head wind.

Ok well, I sound like a total idiot then. I could have sworn Jay posted a vid of you guys racing. Either way, nice times.

I was there for all this as well. Paul, when do you think you're gonna have all the new gear in? I want to go back to MIR in about a month or so. You down?

Nice runs Paul. Don't know if you remember me or not, but I was the guy with the '04 Altima! I saw you make a few passes. Your car is somthing else.

I was pretty happy with my best ET as well (in sig). I'd like to think that with cai/exhaust and maybe a 75shot or so I could see low 13s.

Nice runs and if you fellas end up going again anytime soon, let me know fo' shizzle!!
