2nd time at the track

I went to the track for the first time a year ago and ran a my best time and mph with a 15.72@ 91.08 2.45 60'. My mods then were y-pipe, JWT intake, UPD, custom catback, 15 steelies with 25 psi, 1/4 tank. The passenger and rear seats, spare, jack, and floor mats were taken out. It was about 78 degrees and the track is at 4400 elevation.

This year for my second time (same track) about 75-80 degrees. Everything the same only this time I had a MEVI. And I have to say I must be one of the lucky cars with the MEVI. My new PB:

Reaction: .06
60': 2.41
330': 6.56
1/8: 9.97
mph: 72.33
1000': 12.91
1/4: 15.38
mph: 94.10

With the MEVI I increased my time by .34 and my ET mph by 3 mph. I have to say I am very impressed with the MEVI. I am very happy I got it.
My best 60' of the day was 2.37 and I still have no idea how I did that. Hopefully I can figure it out so I can do 2.3's consistently. Anyway just thought I'd post my time.

A few observations:

Your 60' is horrendous, and even at a high altitude, you still managed a 15.38?! With some practice/good rubber, you could manage to squeeze out 14.9x with your trap.

Now the real story is that for all intents and purposes, your car is a mid 14 second 95+mph car.

1/8th trap 72.33
1/4 trap 94.10

Dude, you are picking up like a raped ape. Almost 22mph on the big end??? Wow, that is considerable pull where it matters. I don't know what MEVI does for the 4th gen, but if you can attribute the hp gains to this, wow!

Good times, and keep on practicing, your car has 14's in it for sure!

I'm hoping I can get into the 14's at my high elevation. I know it's all accustomed to my crappy 60' times. Just takes more practice. I also have my front 2 O2 sensors that are bad, I'm getting those fixed soon. And maybe I'll try to get some higher performance tires for my 15's, for better traction.

just as I thought. YOu only trapped 72.33 in the 1/8 and gained nearly 22mph in the last 1/8 trapping 94.1!!! Thats a lot of top end but your 1/8 trap is real low cause of the mevi. YOu probably know it takes away that nice midrange power around 4-5k. In 1st and 2nd gear you need that power the most and the mevi takes that away and adds it to the top end which is pretty much useless in those first 2 gears. Once you hit 3rd, the mevi goes to work and helps you out a lot cause your pretty much crossing the line redlining 3rd. Which explains why you gained 22mph in the last 1/8.

Nice times nonetheless, esp. with that high elevation.

that is perfectly normal, 21-22 mph in the second 1/8, for a MEVI max to do.

Yep, I typically get 76-77mph in the 1/8 and finish at 97-98mph. Sometimes I get 22mph. Before the MEVI/JWT, I was still averaging 19-20mph.

I just need to continue to learn to launch better. I'm really only about 6000-6100 rpms when crossing the finish line. At redline (6500 rpms) in 3rd gear I'm about 98-99 mph.
