well this will be my 1st time competing at moroso and id like to know what to expect from the car inspections. ive heard allot of stuff from various people who attended various tracks and i want to make sure i have everything in order. as far as me, i heard i need long pants, do i need long sleve shirt as well? as far as car ive heard you need battery tie down, i have the stock one is that enough? I heard hub caps need to be removed prior to racing, is this true? headlights must be on at all times?

also my cars left cv joint is goin bad, will that be a problem with them?

pease let me know guys and lend me any other advice you may have. TIA

 

Most likely they won't give your car more than a 30 sec look over. They migh ask if your running nitrous or something like that. It's not like they give it a 100 point inspection. I have ran at places where the tech in was simply putting the #'s on my window and that was it. Other places are more picky, like removing the center caps, asking about my mods, asking what kinda times I expect to run and such. But with the kind of cars that most of us here are running, tech in is not a big deal.

Yes, wear long pants. T-shirts are allowed, at least every place that I have been they are.

 

thanxs mike, ill bring a long sleeve shirt in case. i figured they wont give us maximas/I30's, if i had a 5.0L stang with big drag slicks in the rear, im sure id get a more thurough inspection.

 

For a street car, most tracks don't do much of a inspection. The OEM battery tiedown is fine. They might inspect your tires to make sure you're not on the belts, they'll look to make sure your headlights and brake lights aren't cracked, and basic little things. For a Maxima, most of them are in good shape so don't expect much inspection.

If your car is leaking ANY fluid (AC condensate, coolant, oil, tranny fluid) don't even bother going. If a track official sees you dripping fluid they'll throw you off the track. DO NOT run your AC on cold at the track because it will "sweat" and drip water.

I think it really depends on what your car looks like. Some tracks are really **** and others are really laid back. I saw a 11 sec Nova make it through tech with zip ties holding the radiator to the support. When I took my car to Sacramento Raceway the female tech asked me if I was stock and I said yes & she wrote the numbers on my windows and that was the end of my tech. The 2 second tech. My car was bone stock at the time though. I would think you would be alright as long as there are big leaks.

Yep, it does depend on the track. At my track, if you bring your car on a trailor or it is obviously looks fast (12s and below), then they go all ***** out on the inspection like inspecting for catch cans, exterior battery/fuel pump shutoffs, fully mig welded cages for sub 12-second rides, correct style lug nuts, gauges, plus all the other correct underhood safety items.

WOW!!!!, thats alot of stuff to check for lol. my mechanic has a sub 11 sec svt cobra and they wont let him race anymore unless he gets a roll cage. when he tries to sneak it past, they pull him over immediately and its funny to see them go in a frenzy about his car. we even tried to sneak it past them by me driving the car but they recognized the blue paint immediately. thnx for all the advice and for telling me what i should look out for.
