My 14.2 @ 100 run at the track *video*

You can't see the time, because my friend was using my digital camera that doesn't have zoom on it. He calls it out though. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get a faster time than a 14.2 even though I am trapping at 100 mph! Any ideas? I see others running 14.1 @ 97. How do they do it? If I am trapping at 100 mph that means the power is definitely there right?

The video is poor quality, but works. For some reason, I couldn't get the original to upload.

On this particular run it was a 2.29. Usually it's between 2.2x and 2.4x.

If it goes all the way up to 2.4x, then it's your launch. Hence the 100mph trap speed.

Ya the 60' times need to drop to low 2.2 or better yet, into the 2.1xx. That'll get you 14 flat I would think, as I hit 14.1 @97, obviously making slightly less power than you. Maybe you need stickier tires??

use some dr's. if you can locate them, you should be able to get bfg dr's for the oem wheel size 225 50 17. what size wheel are you running? if you are still using the oem 17's, then i say go with the dr's. if you are running a larger wheel, strap the oem's back on when you go to the track, w/the aforementioned dr's.

nasty maxima, btw. your car is extremely quick mang!

Thank you for that comment very informative. The reason the video quality is so bad is because it kept getting an error when I tried loading the original. So I let it play and recorded it playing on my monitor. Walla it worked, but yes the quality is bad.

Since you seem to know, what causes the trap speed to be higher????

I have heard that tire spin can cause the trap speed to be a bit higher becuase it allows the engine to hit the power band quicker. I have seen an effect in my timeslips when I spin but its usually not more than 0.5mph and the difference is so small it could really be anything.

Launches affect the trap speed.
The better you launch (quicker 60' times) the faster you will get to the stripe, but the less opportunity your car has to build speed.
A bad launch will get the tires spinning and therefore get you to the stripe slower, but give your car more of an opportunity to build speed.

Has to be in the launch, and RPM that you launch at. Last track visit, I was in the 13.9 at only 98.5. Trapping 100 should be good for 13.7 or 13.8
