02 altima 3.5se auto with intake and exhaust vs my 04 maxima 3.5 se auto bone stock

i raced a 02 altima 3.5 se auto with intake and exhaust last night and beat him by two cars on the first run, and on the second had about half a car and i was pulling away.. this is in my stock 04 maxima se auto.. so its all on the car and driver i guess. these where both from dead stops. one was from a role and i still pulled not walked away but pulled.. i had two people in my car he had three but the max weights more already.. the alti sounded mean as hell though.. spoke to the guy after that, nice guy. it was a good run..

not to degrade your '04, but it is likely had you both run solo, and the fact he hung out the second time leads me to believe that he might walk on you a little, and here's why. On a fwd car, putting a person in the back seat not only has the detriment of the added weight, but more importantly the balance is hurt. It removes weight from the front to the rear, resulting in a huge traction loss, evident by the inconsistency in the two runs. And beyond that in both of your automatics, i wouldn't be so quick to judge the result as superior driving. it seems there were perhaps a couple of variables not addressed, and they will make a huge difference, as i'm sure you notice the diff between an empty or full tank, etc. just think one person weighs more than a full tank of gas............something to think about

i agree but i did have someone in the car as well.. i agree it would have been closer if it was just me and him driving but, at the top end i was pulling away on every run. driving im not gonna say im better but my launch every time was better. he said his best run at the track was a 14.5 with a 2.3 60ft.. hes good for what i run witha lower 60ft. both cars where equal power, as far as i can tell.

cars should be evenly matched, they have the same engine, roughly the same coefficient of drag (high end), same redline, etc. etc. etc. but its still fun, i know. i love evenly matched cars at the strip
