went to the track today-new PB!

well its been about seven months since i have been, and it took a little getting used to again, but i managed to beat my best time

r/t: .033
60': 2.101
1/8th et: 9.5
1/8th mph: 72.6
1/4 et: 14.8
1/4 mph: 92.4

my clutch burnt bad on my very first run! actually, it was on my burnout. while i was going down the track, it was smoking inside the passenger compartment! but i eased up on the burnouts, and i managed to do better and better.

i was running m&h slicks. for this run, they were at 13.5 psi, launching at about 5200 rpm. yeah i know, thats not that great a time for having slicks, but considering the shape my clutch was in, i'm happy!

so, should i get an exedy clutch, or just a stock one?

p.s. oh yeah, also i checked the computer for codes just before i went, and it had a code 0210 "fuel inj sys left bank:lean" i went ahead and reset it, but i havent checked if it came back or not. would this affect the performance of my engine?

Well your 60ft time is pretty good but could be a little better considering your running slicks. Your 1/4 mile time seems consisten with your trap speed. Not a bad run all things considered.
what are your mods?

what tires were you running when you got that 14.789?

Good job getting a new PB. The ET seems a tad low for the mods. No MIL codes came back later right? Car perfectly tuned up? What were the weather conditions at the track this time?

I'm running the same slicks & wheels as you. I did 12 passes on a stock 100K clutch w/o any problems at all. I'm sure a better clutch would help but for the money maybe an ECU or something else will help you more.

I was running Sumitomo SRIXON4 Tires. I was unaware of your mods but you should check to ensure that everything is in good shape, plug, fuel filter and KS.But i guess that would give you a code. I consistantly ran 93mph traps with my mods before installing my UR pulley. This is also with my stock clutch and my car had about 111k at the time. what were your other times on your passes?

how were you launching? were you doing a pretty long burnout? what kind of times did you get?

I would advise you to dyno. just to see what is going on. Look at my times and my mods. i am running 2/10s quicker and almost a 1mph faster. and that is on street tires with a worst 60ft time. My car is also california Emissions which from what i can tell is at a disadvantage to fed spec cars (extra weight and exhaust restriction).
your times aren't bad but something doesn't seem right.

What track is it you are running at. I know that one of the tracks out in california is at like 3000ish feet MSL which is not going to do good things to your times or trap speeds. I think that it's LACR I'm thinking of but I could be wrong.

Inyokern, CA
the elevation is 2483 feet above sea level. LACR is about an hour south, yeah from what i hear it's a pretty slow track.

anyways, i kinda don't want to dyno, because it won't really tell me whats going on, just that something IS going on. i would still have to find out what it is. and i'm lazy.

2500' MSL is still pretty high. What were the weather conditions like, or, what is a zip code near by there, I can look them up for you and let you know if it seems like there is something wrong with the power your car is putting out or if it seems normal to me.

At low elevation, the times would be in the lower 14's with 95-96 traps, probably.

2,500 is enough to take a pretty good toll on the power.

well the zip is 93527.
the weather says the high was 48 but it felt hotter than that to me. it wasnt windy at all, and no clouds either.

Temp seems excellent but that's some elevation. SAE power reflects about +14hp if you ran in Chicago.

As for my launch I barely heated my slicks. 2.0x 60's and 14.1x ET's with some spin. Here was my detail.
