Track times again

Thunder Valley Raceway
T/T 04/23/05

I avoided the water box on some runs at the waterbox guys dissapproval but he seemed to loosen up after the first couple times. 19 runs again, same as last time.

Best 1/4mile and 1/8mile ET/Trap run:
Reaction .179
60ft----2.449
1/8----10.008@71.418mph
1/4----15.468@91.077mph

Best 60ft run:
Reaction .204
60ft----2.345
1/8----10.0017@70.141mph
1/4----15.543@87.908mph

My traps range from 90.055-91.077mph on the left lane and 87.908-88.635mph on the right lane. On both lanes, my time ranged from 15.468-15.685. I didn't cool down the car between runs and that made the car and me suprisingly consistant.

Trap is a bit low. Stock, my traps ranged from 91.22 to 92.05 and ETs were almost all 15.1s and 15.0s. 60'=2.26 to 2.35.

Could just be that my VQ is showing its age

I can't wait to get to a different track to see my results.

VQ gets stronger with age. Work on your launch and your times will improve.

I'm going back this weekend!

Only this time its predicted to be cooler and less windy (that day was about 70degrees and 18-22mph west wind (against cars running). I've also removed the spare/jack/tools and gutted the entire trunk including the cardboard over the spare and the carpet. I've brought my front tires down to 25psi and kept the rears at 30psi. I've taken out floor mats as well as CDs, books, manuals ect... inside the car. I've also changed the spark plugs which were new when I bought the car about a month ago but this time they are NGK-V powers vs. Bosch Platinum 4 (they still looked clean and ready for another 50-60K miles) but I can actually feel a difference in power between these two plugs at lower rpm.

Can't wait!

Thunder Valley is a crappy track. Back when I was NA I ran 14.2-14.3 up here in IL at my local "fast" track. Went to OK and ran 14.7-14.8. Went back to IL and ran 14.2's.

I would consider those track times at Thunder Valley pettey decent considering you could have ran a 15 flat if you could drive better
