My car blows

Ok, so I went to the track, GIR, to try the DR mod and my car ran worse with the DR mod on. My 60' times were horrendous with it on. I don't know what the deal is. Super frustrated!!
Anyone run worse with the DR mod on?

jime states exactly this, sometimes it's faster, and sometimes it's slower, this is of both the VB mod/DR mod. The reason I did my VB was because my 1-2 was annoying the holy **** out of me. Yeah post the slips you lazy as..s

The second set of runs is red to try and help distinguish.

April 19, 2005, 77 degrees, not much wind. DR was not installed.

R/T .469 .125

60' 2.162 2.183

330 6.222 6.237

1/8 9.541 9.557

MPH 74.44 73.69

1000 12.403 12.422

1/4 14.827 14.849

MPH 93.16 93.00

May 3, 2005, 57 degrees, almost no wind.

DR mod on
R/T .412 .092

60' 2.285 2.370

330 6.323 6.403

1/8 9.634 9.718

MPH 74.59 74.67

1000 12.507 12.583

1/4 14.944 15.011

MPH 92.54 92.82

DR mod off
R/T .027 .146

60' 2.216 2.314

330 6.251 6.359

1/8 9.570 9.675

MPH 74.37 74.53

1000 12.436 12.537

1/4 14.867 14.966

MPH 92.88 92.89

All of these runs are with no y-pipe or headers. Only performance mods are Cattman catback, Stillen short Ram pop-charger intake, and advanced timing. And of course the DR mod, which doesn't seem to help.

Maybe the track was in worse condition the second time.

BTW: I am trapping the exact speed as you in the 1/8, but running 9.8 (2.3 60)

Look at your 60's thats a definant sign where your problem is. Work on you launches with the DR on, that might change the out come.

from the looks of it, your higher ET's on your DR day were due to bad 60' times. Almost 2/10's slower there, which can easily translate to 2-3 tenths higher ET... work on the 60' times w/the DR, i'm still a believer in the DR, worked for me at the track!

I don't see how the DR could effect 60's.

I do know that with the VB you have to go to or past(stupid Maxima tahcs) redline to get it so that 2nd is in a good spot and doesn't bog.

I didn't mean the DR affects the 60' time... his runs with the DR had bad 60' times, probly cause of poor track prep, cooler weather, etc etc . I just meant run the car again using the DR but also work on getting lower 60' times - a good 60' time and the use of the DR should get better ET... hope that clarifies

I agree Derek, was thinking they prepped the hell out of the track the last time, and this time was so-so track prep.

I wouldn't worry about, its not like you're talking half a second diff or anything. I would chalk it up to poor track prep. VHT does make a difference...

No by no means was i pointing out to you, I just was thinking his loss of time, and how the DR effected it, sorry. But I agree too, track prep is a b!tch. Did your tires break loose at all down the track?

Well as you can see I ran two runs without the DR on and had a somewhat decent 60' of 2.216, same night of course.

Look at the similarities of the on and off runs. 2.285/2.216. There's .069 difference. Sixty Nine Hunderedths. Looks to me like the DR mod has no effect on your 60' times, on or off. It's just a goofy day at the track. I've had them too.

Thanks brad. Well, it is still bumming me out.
I like the look of the car but I still want it to do some business.

Dude, just be happy with the combined look/speed of your car -- at least you arent running consistent 16 flats like I am.

Headers will make it get buisness done real nicely, not sure if you want to go that route though.
