Mods For A 1/8 run....

I was looking to get either a technosquare ECU, valvebody, or a torque converter

can only get one upgrade due to lack of funds

which would be a better option?

thanks

Hmm, probably the ECU, the other 2 won't help much. Slicks would help you more than any or all 3 together.

Yeah, i'd say a good set of sticky tires... It's all in the launch, especially a race as short as the 1/8th mile. I like the 1/8th though, you gotta be on top of your game to win, and can often beat alot of faster cars at the tree and launch.

Agreed, maybe $300-$350 for a pair of wheels, slicks, and mounting. .4-.6 off the ET right?

I'm assuming hes stock or fairly close to stock, in which case slicks probably wouldn't help him much as most stockish 4th gen autos lack the ability to spin street tires badly off the line don't they?

Of the 3 things listed I'd get the ECU definately. Its usefulness extends beyond the track.

yeah, unless modded and an upgraded tq converter is being used, slicks wont benefit him as much as an ECU. Good street tires on sawblades for n/a autos should be fine for 2.2-2.1 60'. Get the ECU before the valve body because with the VB shifting so much quicker, it leaves autos in a slow spot in the next gear unless you have the extended rev limiter. ECU with 7200 rev limiter is going to be my next mod.
