I tried looking for threads about this but didnt find any with helpfull information. How would i go about launching my barebone 99 5spd gxe with steelies and relatively new all reason tires? I tried dumping the clutch at 2k and flooring it, but my tires just spin until redline and i accelerate very slowly. My clutch seems to be grabbing well for now. I can powershift and everything, but the launch screws me up.

 

dont floor it right away. launch at 2.5-3k then punch the pedal about half way for like 2 seconds then floor it. i'm only suggesting this because of your tires. Gotta have some grippy tires to launch good. you might also want to get a little wider wheel for grip too.

 

Go to the track on weekends when they actually put some VHT. Drop the tires to 25 psi. Launch off idle.
